Damn. Just beat me with the playlist.

Here's Steve Earle:

Cool - thanks. Might have to get one of these if I can find it at a CC.

The one in Schaumburg (Golf & Meacham) had at least 2 of them as of yesterday. I'll be picking up a wireless LP after work today as they're dirt cheap now ($23) to replace my old one, which occasionally drops my blue notes. I *might* pick up the stage kit, still on the fence.

Drive By Truckers: 3 Dimes Down
Lucinda Williams: Can't Let Go
Neko Case: People Got a Lot of Nerve
Old 97s: Time Bomb (LIVE)
Steve Earle: Satellite Radio
Of these, I only really like the Neko Case song, but I'm in for the whole pack anyway, to support future releases of things like this. If tracks like this help lead to some Wilco in Rock Band, I'm all for it. Not that I consider Wilco to be alt. country, mind you, but a lot of people who don't know any better do.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

Time Bomb is one of my top 3-4 Old 97's songs... so of course they screw me by making it a live version Despite how much I love the Old 97's they don't sound nearly as good live as they do on disc. I'm not sure if I'll get this one.

More Jimmy Eat World!?!?! Also in for Neko Case. I think it's safe to say the "Chrismas slump" is officially over.

If "Pick Up the Pieces" ever sees the light of day here, I'm all over that one too! The crowd singing the sax part is a nice touch.

Time Bomb is one of my favorite songs from any band. I'm a bit disappointed that it's a live version, but I still have to have it.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

Apparently there are two live versions of Time Bomb - one from a Satellite Rides bonus disc and one from Alive & Wired. Anyone know which we're getting?

I'm in for Time Bomb, Can't Let Go, Satellite Radio, and Sweetness.

When I hear "Sweetness" and say...."OH, the menu theme from NHL 04!", does it out me as not being a Jimmy Eat World fan?

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

Lots of JEW ( now that's an acronym), love here. I enjoy the song that was already on the disc (or was that GH:WT?). Anyway, these didn't do anything for me.

JEW is one of my favorite bands. However, I caution you against Lucky Denver Mint, especially if you are drummer, I believe it's just a drum track, repetitive and not exciting.

Futures will be awesome though. Sweetness with take me to the top of my vocal range. In my college band, we covered that and I was the only guy who could reach it, but it destroys my voice.

The song is on both GH:WT and RB2... it's The Middle.

Yikes. Most expensive week for me since No Doubt. I'm in for the Alt-Country pack and likely the Jimmy Eat World. I have to have a refresher on those songs though.

I'm in for the Jimmy Eat World pack, but am on the fence between picking up the other five or just cherry picking Neko Case and Old 97's.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

Nothing for me again - probably won't buy DLC again until Ten, which sucks because I used to get at least 4 or 5 songs a month. They are just on to genres I care nothing about.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

I dunno man, Ten is still a month away. Surely there will be something cool before then*.

After playing some tunes last night, I'd love to see some more STP, Soundgarden & AIC, but that's all unlikely with Ten so close.

*nothing against the past few weeks of DLC.

I really want to buy it, but if it's the version from Alive & Wired I probably won't.

BTW, just noticed the sig.

Saving money this week.

I've never heard a single one of those songs. Guess I'll save my points for Ten and Texas Flood.

Speaking of which, what's the deal with SRV and JA?

I get that they want to expand the genres, but presumably these songs are done and just shelved, waiting on a sensible time to release them.

The one on the Satellite Rides bonus disc was recorded live in a radio station studio. I hope it's that version instead of the Alive & Wired version. That said, I'm guessing it's the Alive & Wired version.

I have given up on Jane's Addiction to be honest. I was really excited and would have snatched up the whole thing. Then months pass and i was considering just getting a song or two. Now - it shows how announcing things so far out with no date kills any potential anticipation or hype.

Thanks for the info! I'm not too familiar with the band, but I love that song and will buy it no matter what version it is. Still, I would've preferred the studio version, but I'm guessing there's some valid reason why they couldn't use that one.
