Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

The KMart deal is similar (and more complicated).

Buy $40 worth of gaming software and receive $15 game coupon. Buy $120 worth of gaming software and receive a $15 game coupon + another $45 game coupon ($60 in game coupons, just two coupons). $20 PSN and Live cards count toward this promotion. Plus if you buy either Mortal Kombat or Portal 2, you receive $10 off your first $20 PSN/Live cards.

To break it down (and if I understand this correctly): buy Portal 2, Mortal Kombat and a $20 PSN/Live card for $129.98 + tax and receive $60 in KMart game coupons (which are good for only a short time... 45 days maybe?).

LA Noire comes out within that window though.

Kmart will have a similar deal - buy MK, Portal 2, and a $20 PSN/XBL points card for $130, get a $60 gaming coupon.

Yeah.... the Kmart deal is better if you're willing to brave your local Kmart. Mine has been really good about stock so I have no problems going there. And the deals always work (even if the cashier has no clue). The trick is not asking them any questions and just bringing the right combination of items to the checkout counter. If you ask them, they probably don't know anything about the deals and they will call a manager and they will make you work for your bargain because they will not just "ring it up and see." The register will do all the work. DO NOT ASK THEM QUESTIONS. Seriously.

This is very true.

The Xbox Marketplace is having a one-day sale on several popular heavy-hitter arcade titles, including Limbo and Castle Crashers at 600 points each.

True dat. I literally had to bite my tongue when an uninformed employee started lecturing me about the whole process works. When it rang up correctly, I just gave her one of those "see, go F yourself" looks and never said a word.

There are actually a lot of Xbox arcade games on sale right now. I think there is a full list in the XBLA thread.

Wait, so you don't need a rewards card at Kmart to get in on the deals again?

They are doing the coupon train again Though there aren't any upcomming offers confirmed yet AFAIK.

But you do still need the rewards card. That's how they're preventing people from buying games, then returning them and keeping the coupon.

Damn near B2G1. Still good, though I'm doing the Kmart deal.

I think the reason they got rid of thecoupons was more to do with the emailing of coupons than that. AFAIK, yiu dont need a card to get the new coupons.

Taken from the official, Kmart-run thread on CAG:

"You must be a shop your way reward member to receive the coupons, signage has been updated in-store."

Boo. I hate their rewards card. I could never get mine to work correctly.

Really? As frustrating as Kmart is, I never had a problem. It's about the ONLY thing they did right from the get-go.

I actually never recieved my rewards card after signing up for it. It works just fine with my phone number though. I got my $25 reward from Black Ops and used it the next day.

Kirby's Epic Yarn is on sale at BestBuy for $20. $30 at Amazon and Gamestop. Must be an all around price-drop.

I started it last night and it is oh so fun.

From Josh Deane's (aka K-mart guy on CAG) Facebook page:

Ready for some Portal 2 goodness? Starting 5/1, Portal 2 (360, PS3) will be $34.99. This will be featured in the circular. The blog will not be up until Friday to avoid other accounts PMing the deal early.
Might have to log into the reward site and figure out what I have to cash in on to make it even sweeter.

Now I wish I had saved my $15 coupon instead of buying a points card.

That's a fantastic deal. I spent $54.99 at Amazon for it, but got $25 in future credit. It's well worth it.

Great deal. Since I have a $25 GC from BB I think I'll PM around that time.

It's really not that scary if you keep your head down, power through to the media department and grab the nearest clerk on your way.

Though, if you get to the media department and you still haven't found a clerk, head right back up to the front and ask a cashier to send someone back there. Do not linger and wait! No one will show up.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

If anyone here does get the 360 version next week, I would love it if you'd let me take you through the co-op tutorial course (about 5 minutes) before you play co-op at all. That stupid reverse viral achievement is a thorn in my side and it's worth 75gs!
