the answer is no. You have to use your rewards card to use the coupon. But as Jabroni posted, it's free to sign up and is simply attached to your Reward Zone card. So go to the website and sign it up. And then you can use the coupon.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Signed up for Gamer Reward Zone ealier today, thanks. Hopefully I'll find luck with Blur, the coupons, and my local Best Buy(s).

EDIT: Just went to my Best Buy in North Frisco, Tx. They had about ten copies and I got mine for the price of 12 and some change. I actually used an additional best buy gift card and a leftover visa gc...so I paid zero oop. Pretty cool. Thanks for posting about it.

Tried a different BB today. Great success. The cashier pretty much offered to put both in. For those that care in Pittsburgh, go to the McKnight Rd. BB and stay away from the one in the South Hills.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but Best Buy is sending to its rewards members their new magazine called @Gamer. Their first issue has $20 off coupons for Halo 3ODST, Bioshock 2, Skate 3, Tiger Woods 11, 2010 FIFA World Cup, and $15 off coupons for Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Just Dance and Assasins Creed 2 (for PC). They are promoting this mag a something that will include monthly coupons for games.

Target has 360 Arcade bundles for $129, with a $30 gift card. Super tempted to pick one up as a spare.

I believe BAR OASIS was developed by the brother of a DVDTalk poster, as well, so that's another reason to check out the game.

I don't think it's his actual brother, just a bro.

I wonder if this came out of the meeting(s) Tarantino had about making Best Buy a "destination for gamers."

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

So, partially out of bitterness toward not being allowed to use both coupons on Blur and buying it for $20 instead of $10 - I decided to return it to Best Buy (actually it had more to do with I tried a friend's version and simply didn't feel I'd even play it enough for my $20 worth). So anyway, I got home and was about to toss my receipts when I realized something interesting about my return. Um, let's just say that when you return the game, the computer doesn't realize that you used the $20 manufacturer's coupon on it....

Actually, that's that's not the first time I've heard that, and the way they're supposed to do it, from my understanding. They've probably already sumitted the coupon to the manufacturer for reimbursement, so they're getting the money. They don't refund it to the manufacturer if you return the game, they refund it to you.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

In that case, i feel less skeevy about the whole thing! Still, that $20 my way probably barely covers the number of times I've used a 10% off coupon there, had the register beep like it was taking the coupon, and then realizing later it didn't actually take anything off.

Yes, that will be a good deal for me. Hopefully we can get those at a discount as well.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Today at GameStop.com they are having a Power Hour sale.

Red Dead Redemption for $24 shipped starting at 12 noon EST. The deal will probably sell out fast.

Use code SAVER for free shipping.

Wow. If you're on the fence about RDR, there's no way you can resist that. Nor should you.

Great deal (and my wife wanted to play this one as well). The problem is I'll be nowhere near a computer during that time. Oh well.

How does this work? Is there a link to the sale, or do I add the item to my cart and see the discount?

Not exactly sure. I saw the deal listed on another site. If you go to the GameStop.com website, there might be a button for the Power Hour sale. Or, if you go right to the RDR game it might show the sale price.

I just tried to load their page and it is slow. They must be getting hammered with the sale price.
