Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Yeah. More than rumors. It'll be $25 at Walmart on Thanksgiving and at Game Stop on BF.

I just thought if I could grab it today for $27, it would totally be worth $2 to me to avoid those crowds (and to not have to buy anything at Game Stop). It's not worth a $10 difference though. I expect Amazon to match those prices (for about 20 seconds maybe until the "sell out").

Yeah, the GCU discount is not applying because the early access discount is being done the same way that the GCU discount would be, so it is not stacking.... might work fine during the non-early access since the sale prices should be the current price and not need the discount.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Thanks, Deck.

Hmm, tough call. There's a Game Stop six blocks from our place so I could head down there easily. Walmart isn't too far away, either. Would be nice to buy at Amazon so I don't have to leave the house and can earn 3 points per dollar on my Amazon Visa.

Now, then. Who will play BF4 on the PS3 with me?

Borderlands 2 GOTY is $44.99 right now. It will be $29.99 at Gamestop on BF.

It is working on the B2G1 Skylanders figures. Got 3 of the swappable characters that were priced 14.99 each. Once in my cart it marked down to 11.99, 11.99 and free. The 11.99 ones each had a GCU unlocked notation and the free one had a notation about the early sales event.

Just an FYI, the 2 year Gamer Unlocked subscription was taxed. I did mine yesterday, and it came out to $32.82. I thought it was a little weird as well that something like that would be taxed.

It's a shame how Amazon has become a follower and is no longer a leader.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Well I did like their price on DMC for $9.99, so I was lucky enough to get in on that before it sold out. But yeah, they need to have some better prices on some games this holiday season and not just rely on matching everyone else.

Hopefully their price on Dead Space 3 on Wednesday is also $10.

Yeah, but what happens when those prices are $30 or $40. If they don't help set prices to compete, it's going to be pointless. Then you might as well settle shopping at Best Buy at full price. Because once those places go out of business, who will Amazon have to compete with?

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Besides, talking about BF deals on Amazon is largely pointless as those lightning deals go OOS in a matter of seconds.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Amazon is also doing two lightning deals on 3DS XL systems here in about 5 and a half hours. Probably going to match the $150 deal that Target or Walmart had in their ad.
