sure, but i'm saying in general if you aren't buying next gen stuff, that sale happens at TRU frequently.

Best Buy to offer two-year gaming discount membership for $120
http://www.polygon.com/2013/11/4/506...gaming-package

Best Buy's new Unlocked Epic Gaming Package will offer participants 20 percent off of new video games for any console for two years, a representative for the retailer told Polygon.

Consumers can purchase a two-year Gamers Club Unlocked membership for $119.99 and begin receiving discounts Nov. 10, 2013. Best Buy points out that the cost is the equivalent of discounts on 10 games, assuming each game purchased retails for $59.99 and nets buyers a discount of $11.99 per game.

Additional benefits include double points for every dollar received for trade-in games and purchases of games, digital content and accessories. Customers can redeem points for Reward Certificates good on "nearly everything [at] Best Buy." Subscribers will also get 10 percent bonus trade-in credit and 10 percent off of pre-owned games. Those who sign up will also receive two welcome coupons, one which offers 50 percent off of a new strategy guide and one that allows you to buy two pre-owned games and and get one free.

Subscribers are restricted to using their discount for three copies of each new game across any platform. For example, they could purchase two copies for PlayStation 4 and one for Xbox 360.

Details about the Unlocked Epic Gaming Package will circulate in an ad Best Buy will run Nov. 10.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

if you had gamer friends, this would be a decent way to go. split the cost between a few people and get regular discounts. i wonder if that means if they are doing away with the preorder RZ bonuses for games. seems like double dipping on those 2 promos would net you games fairly cheap.

Now all you have to worry about is Best Buy staying open for those two years to get your money's worth

I like the price on the starter set. Was hoping additional figurines/play sets would have also been half off. Instead they are Buy One, Get one 50%.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

On the new Best Buy deal, they have up on the FAQ in their forums that existing GCU members will automatically have their membership upgraded to the new program and have the opportunity to purchase 2 additional years for $30 ($15/year, but you have to buy 2). The $120 thing is nonsense, but for $30, I'll gladly take 2 years of 20%, especially considering it stacks with sales, price matches, RZ cert offers, etc.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I hope that is true. A no-brainer for $30.
Mine is actually due for renewal on the 13th.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

The $120 deal doesn't sound terrible assuming you always buy the newest games. Gotta buy 10 in two years to break even. Less than that since you're earning points for RZ certs. $48 for new release games without worrying about deals is decent.

That being said, no way I'm dropping $120 on it.

I'm good till March so the free upgrade is awesome and I'll definitely add a couple more years for $30. Titanfall Collector's Edition, here I come!

I'm hoping so too. No way I would sign up at the $119.99 price, but two years for $30 I'll do since mine is up 11/14.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Walmart.com has a bunch of games on sale for $18.03 right now. More than likely a price mistake, but you can do instore pick up. I grabbed Diablo 3, GTA5, and Battlefield 4.

Battlefield 3 is $18 not 4.

They also have a ton of $11 Lego sets. Some on SD got the $200 LOTR Tower of Orthanic for $11.

I don't see any option to do in-store pickup.

So what is their price on the starter set? My kid wants this but I want to get the best price on it. I went on their website but it was showing $75 and I do not see anything mentioned in the latest ad.

I saw it available in-store on my phone, but I couldn't do an in-store pick up either. I came downstairs to try on the PC and it looks like the site's been nuked or someone pulled the plug; nothing works at Walmart.com now.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Well, that was insane. In addition to the games, a lot of big-ticket items were mispriced. HDTVs for $20, treadmills for $30, etc. Disney Infinity starter packs were also $18 (MSRP is $80). A few people at CAG have posted pics of the items being picked up from the store, including the HDTVs.

As usual, I missed most of it. I did get a last minute Diablo 3 order in, but who knows if it'll be cancelled.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Yeah, I also ordered a 75 inch Samsung TV for $329, but had to pay over $100 for shipping. The list price was $5,999, so I fully expect for that one to get canceled. But if not, I'm totally OK with that
