Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Best Buy has Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition (360) for $9.99. Don't think you can do shipping, but you can do free ship to store pretty much anywhere.

Can't seem link to it correctly, but Newegg.com has De Blob 2 for the 360, Wii and PS3 for $15.99 with free shipping and Nail'd for the 360 for $7.99 with free shipping. Both great deals. I rented De Blob 2 and thought it was a great family game.

My local Toys R Us is trying to shaft me again. I just bought the Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock guitar bundle for 14.99 but the total came out to close to 22 bucks. None of the CSRs could help of course and I had to resort to calling corporate. Before I did call corporate I called the other store and verified that they were not charging that amount for tax either. Of course all of the employees either act clueless or say that you always pay tax on the full price on reduced priced items. There might be a lot of ignorant customers out there but I am not one of them.

It is clearly stated as a coupon and nowhere on the coupon does it state that the consumer is responsible for tax on the original amount and not the sale amount. I have also been browsing that thread and have yet to run into a post stating that they were charged tax on the original price. If you could point out the page(s) that those posts are on I would appreciate it. Thanks!

$22 still isn't too shabby for the guitar bundle.

I'm not going to lose sleep but when the other store in town was selling them for 14.99 plus tax then there is a store related problem. This isn't the first time I have had a problem at this particular store over a deal. My biggest complaint really is that even the management acts helpless and clueless and leaves any resolution to the problem in your hands. They basically sell you their shit and then wash their hands of it.

When I went to TRU, the first thing they said when I broke out the coupon is "You'll be paying tax on the original amount, so that'll be about $10 in tax, okay?". I thought that was more than fair. Unfortunately they didn't allow band bundles and there were no 360 Guitar bundles, so I just got a Tony Hawk Shred bundle.
But it's certainly not an ignorant store. That seems to be how this coupon is working chain-wide.

Apparently, that's how the coupon works -- when it actually works. When I bought Shred, it didn't work, so the manager had to manually override it with the $14.99 price. With tax on that amount, yes it was just over $16. But if the coupon works as intended, it will work like a Costco Instant Rebate or a Manufacturer's coupon for a Blu Ray, and you'll be charged tax on the pre-discount amount. Or so I was told.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
I wanted the guitar more than I wanted the game. For $22 (yes, $7 tax), I'm pretty happy. I nearly bought the bundle when it dropped to the $50 to $60 range over the past few months. I was surprised how many were still available. People really don't care much about Guitar Hero anymore.

25% Read several reviews that stated that unlike Ride, Shred was actually half-way decent and semi-playable in casual mode
25% Came all the way out to TRU at lunch hour and didn't want to leave completely empty-handed after finding that there were no 360 guitar bundles available.

50% Figured that if nothing else my son might enjoy the novelty of playing on a wireless skateboard controller, and that alone was probably worth $15.

text "Mystery1" to 78697 and they will send you a link to the same coupon on your phone.
I am going to go in on Friday and see if they have any left. I already have 3 guitars, but would plunk down $20 for the new GH one.
