haha, yeah, I'm in the same boat. I bought the first one and never touched it since my other PS3 came with LBP 2, and I never touched that one either. Both are the GOTY bundles or whatever they are called and never came out of the wrapper.

I think that's the new price on Alien. Still a very solid game and a steal at that price.

I'm in the same boat with Bloodbourne. You might as well at least wait until BF on GoW3. That game is screaming for a $15 to $20 price tag next month.

Where do you guys rank GoWIII in terms of quality/enjoyment? I liked/enjoyed the first two but didn't love them. Do I need to give the franchise another shot?

Do you know that for sure? It's weird because this is my price point for Alien, but if it's the ceiling anyway, I could convince myself to wait for the next sale. I mean, I've already waiting this long Plus, it's not like I'm going to have much time in the immediate future with Fallout 4 and SW: Battlefront coming soon.

But if this is a temporary price, I'll jump in.

It's been that way at Amazon and Gamestop for the past couple weeks, so I figured Best Buy was just late to the party.

The third one was probably the best in the series and had some epic game moments. If you played the first two, you know what you are getting

Three was easily the worse in the series for me. The first half is pretty good but the director quit or was fired half way through and the quality takes a big hit.

The combat doesn't flow like in the other games. For whatever reason I couldn't get into fluid murderous flow like in the other games. I finish the other games on the highest difficulty. I hated the fighting in this one so much I just did it on normal.

The controls are really bad. I died a number of times just jumping over a crack. The Jumping is just broken causing you to miss simple jumps. I didn't have this problem at all in GOW2 or any of the portable games.

The weapons are so boring. All of them are just variation of the blades of chaos. In the other games you got swords, hammers, bows and those fist things. Here you get chain weapon 1, chain weapon 2, Chain weapon 3 and oh look another chain weapon that is just like they one you already have. None of them are as cool as Hade's Hammer that could call spirits to fight with you. In the other games I could combo between weapons like a mad man. Maybe I could do it hear also but why if they all look the same.

Granting like I said the start is good but the ending is such a downer. One fight towards the end is just you ponding a button.

With that said a lot of people love 3. I have not idea why. 3 is the reason why I'll never buy another GoW game without seriously going over reviews and watching game play.

No, really, I agree with you that it's a strong contender. FWIW, I'm new to the series and just started playing GoW III yesterday, and after being stuck battling Hades -- even on easy -- in attempt after attempt after attempt, I'm thinking that maybe this isn't the game for me. I'm usually pretty good at games like this!
