There's a free-to-play version, but it's missing a lot of the maps, apparently.

Good to see them carry it into next gen, but I'm not interested in anything on that list.

Looks like they're killing Gamers Club Unlocked, then. Oh well.

It sounds like they are keeping the monthly coupons (which have been shit lately), but might be dropping the $20 Reward Zone Certificates with high profile releases. I don't know why they didn't offer $20 for unlocked and $10 for regular reward zone members. That seems like a missed opportunity for BB.

I can't imagine anyone renewing just for the coupons or digital magazine.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Yeah, I agree. I still have the magazine subscription coming to my house. But once that runs out, you can't renew a physical subscription, it's only digital from there on out. Stupid move on their part. So I'm out too once my subscription expires.

A lot of people will renew for just the coupons. If you get the digital coupons, you can often use them twice (once online and once in store). For $15/year, you will almost always get at least one game for free or $5.

Hopefully the coupons get better as the $10 preorder bonus is terrible.

God, I haven't used one of their coupons in like six months. They've gotten totally crappy.

I hope you bought one for that price. If they have them on sale near me I will likely grab one for my daughter as her main Christmas gift.

Yes.

I recently bought one and have only used it via Wi-Fi.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

The 3G is just an additional capability if you're willing to shell out a chunk of change every month for service. Mine has it but I doubt I will ever use it.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

i'm sure this is a YMMV situation, but, I was in a Fry's Food (Kroger) store and happened by their electronics department. They've got WiiU versions of New Super Mario Bros. and Batman: Arkham City on clearance for $29.99.

Thought that was odd to see an actual Nintendo 1st party game on clearance like that. I see Amazon has NSMB for $44 and change, so that's still almost $15 cheaper.

If you have a blockbuster near you, New Super Mario Bros is $30 and they are running a b1g1 50% off sale right now.

^ All their iOS games are on sale for a buck. Not sure which format I'd rather replay them on.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Fry's has Starcraft 2 : Heart of the Swarm expansion on sale at half price ($19.96). I just got it price matched at Wal-Mart. That was my to-buy price.
The CSR asked me if I wanted to spend $3 for a one year replacement warranty. I informed her that online download codes rarely break when handled carefully.
