I finally finished this last night. Great game, a lot of fun all the way through.

As with the first game, I was a bit disappointed with the but it's a minor quibble.

I also found it odd that from time to time the game would give me unprompted hints. I'm guessing the play-testers kept getting stuck in those areas, and the developers got lazy in directing the player.

You can disable the hints right from the starts. The tutorials, on the other hand, can only be disabled after you've beaten the game once (though some stay active regardless).

Uncharted 2: Among the Overrated

A bit over-the-top, but he has some valid points.

'Eh. I totally agree with how linear the game is, see post #644, but I didn't have a problem dying very often, or finding what I needed to do.

I also agree with the linearity but it's laughable to say that God of War and MGS are any different. And I didn't get killed too often either. This is simply a serial action-adventure shooter. Linearity isn't an issue. If this was an exploration game like Tomb Raider or an RPG, linearity would be a negative.

I tried watching the "behind the scenes" movies last night. They really sucked, basically just fluff pieces. I guess I'm spoiled by the excellent GoW docs.

Then I jumped into the multiplayer. Haven't done that since the demo was out. Had a blast.

The multiplayer DLC was lame though. $5.00 for skins from other games. Other games offer new maps for that price, not advertising for other IPs.

I could see somebody not being into this TYPE of game, but you really have to contort yourself quite a bit to call it anything but a great game. Ultimately, it is what it is...a linear, story driven action adventure with absurdly high production values. Criticising it for not being something else is just silly, and I'd also have to question your consistency (i.e. do you hate other games for being linear, or are you just hating something because it's popular...possibly looking for page hits?)

I'm not into the Metal Gear series, for instance...in fact, I can't stand them, but I absolutely acknowledge that they are great games.

The good behind the scenes stuff are at PSN and are free. Videos 7 to 12 are the good ones as they feature great candid discussions with the actors.

Yeah, the DLC is lame and overpriced. Some folk insist it's worth it cos they're mute. I just find them confusing as characters like Nathan Hale look like they'd fit in with the bad guys from Uncharted rather than the good guys. It's lead me to a few unfortunate team kills during a hectic deathmatch session or two.

The next batch of DLC set to release contains new maps, I think, but definitely has a new co-op map. The new co-op map is something I'd consider paying for.

New maps would be great and worth paying. Skins should be free.

Finished the game this morning. Amazing game, but I had my first freeze on my PS3 Slim with it. On Chapter 25 near the end (staircase before the cut scene) the game froze, and I had to reset the PS3. Once I reseted it loaded up fine and I was able to finish the game.

A quick search on Google shows that some people have this freeze. However 2 of my friends have recently finished the game on their launch 60GB PS3s and had no freeze at all.

Does anyone know if this is just a Slim glitch, or something with the game? Anyone else have any freezes with Uncharted 2 single player?

Never had any freezes on my 60GB. I do know that random slim and fat PS3 units have had freezes ever since update 3.00 was released.

I just started the game...pretty darn great. Only at like Ch.3, but pretty fun. I may have to dive in multiplayer soon also.

Replayed the chapter tonight and it didn't freeze. The only thing different is that I had my Slim sitting vertical instead of horizontal. Don't think that made a difference, but the system seems to run cooler like this and the fan seems quieter.

Just hot Lvl 51 on coop... time to take a break. Not int in the current DLC but a new coop map is defin worth a purchase.
