I hate to start again, but, ugh... no. Every once in a while fine, but if it continues to supplant rock, like this week, then we have a problem. They should have put out something else this week in addition to the country.

Shagrath 12-16-08 12:19 PM

I'll admit I am a bit perplexed as to why they only released the country pack this week. I was almost certain they'd release something else (even if just a couple singles) to satiate the non-country users. Five songs seems like such a small amount when we're used to getting 7+ a week.

However, it is amazing that it's come so far. We used to be happy to get three a week, and now they're just pummeling us with tons of new material all the time! I believe 9/9 was the last week with just a 3-pack (All That Remains).

And untill a little over a year ago we had to wait almost a year to get a new batch of tracks. Now people freak when there's not anything they want put out in 3-4 weeks. (Stuff is still coming out mind you.) How quickly we get spoiled huh? ;)

Dear Santa,

Please give me Texas Flood for Christmas.

Yeah! That's the album I've been most eagerly waiting for. The rest announced at that time have a couple songs I like, but Texas Flood will almost certainly be an entire album purchase.

thematahara 12-16-08 01:32 PM

Of the announced albums, isnt Texas Flood the only one remaining? Where those albums guaranteed out before next year?

No guarantees.

GoVegan 12-16-08 01:37 PM

The Jane's Addiction album hasn't come out yet either.

I think a lot of us at first assumed they'd be out by the end of the year to get to that magic #500...but obviously they picked up the pace in releasing other songs, so I doubt we'll see both of the remaining albums yet this year.

We better get something for Christmas next week. :p

It was only guaranteed that they'd hit 500 total tracks this year (which they have surpassed). The six albums were just announced at that same time, but nothing was stated as far as them being out by the end of the year. The wording on the Entertainment Weekly article about this was worded in a way that I initially thought they would all be out this year, but going back and looking at it, it doesn't say that at all.

I'm just afraid with Ten being announced for March, these two will be Jan and Feb releases.

UncleGramps 12-16-08 01:56 PM

Of the six announced albums, only two are not out yet (SRV, Jane's Addiction). I bet we'll see at least one of them before the year is over. I'm pretty sure they've released more than one album in a given month at some point.

pinata242 12-16-08 02:09 PM

I can't see Texas Flood coming out when this country pack just hit. I'm not saying SRV is "country", but it is definitely twangy rock. And it'll be ass hard like the country pack. I predict a break in between.

Mad Dawg sounds like he's got it right, Jan & Feb for those remaining albums.

Michael Corvin 12-16-08 02:17 PM

I think that if we don't see a surprise Christmas announcement Friday (TSO?) that we'll see Jane's Addiction next week.

I'd like to see them kick off 2009 with an announcement of a fresh batch of albums.

GatorDeb 12-16-08 02:27 PM

Man you people get 500+ non-country songs and we get 8 total country songs and look at all this bitching :p

I think this is the best tracklist ever put together. I like all the songs I've done so far in RB2 (about 20 in the tour). This is the best game ever created! I'm getting RB 3 on release day (minus instruments, I'm using these until they break).

pinata242 12-16-08 02:37 PM

Where's the bitching? :hscratch:

You need to pick ONE game and say this - not every one that keeps your attention for more than 5 minutes.

Exactly. All the bitching happened about 10 days ago when the country pack leaked. :D

But seriously, I don't have a problem with a week or few of country, I just don't want it to become the standard. Methinks the Pearl Jam announcement was there to soften the blow of only country this week. Or at least the reason the country pack was chosen for this week.

I've been playing GH:WT this week and it really got me thinking about the artists in that game (Van Halen, Hendrix, Eagles, Doors, etc.) and the upcoming Beatles game. I wonder if Harmonix was intentionally saving their pennies for the Fab Four when it came to other big name artists like the ones that ended up in World Tour.

pinata242 12-16-08 02:55 PM

Did you see the video I posted a few days ago with the CEO of Harmonix? The last 2 minutes of it they get into The Beatles deal. I'm not sure how much money HMX had to put up, but it helps when you're owned by MTV and the prez of MTV Games is friends with the Harrisons and Dhani already loves your games.

Quick, somebody better define "rock" and then classify all 104 RB2 tracks and justify how each and every one is no more and no less than "rock".
