Not sure if you need it, but mine still had a ton of portable hard drives. Of course with their 'big' clearance discount, they are just now in the same range as Amazon.
You could use one to store music/media on with your PS3, assuming you aren't streaming it already. Also, a portable HDD may be able to be used as an internal drive after it's removed from its enclosure. |
Re: Official PS3 Thread - October 08 edition
Can any PS3 owners who also have this recommend it for $100?

Anyone else pick up the new HSG course last week? It's Golfasaurus Rex. Pretty entertaining and a very challenging layout. All kinds of extremely detailed dinosaurs walking around the course, sometimes playing, chasing, or fighting with each other.
While I will continue to purchase any and all DLC they release for this game (it's still the most played of all my PS3 games), I really wish they would add more to these packs for the price. This one should have come with caveman/cavewoman outfits for at least a couple of the characters and a set of clubs made out of dinosaur bones or something. Picked it up last night, played a couple of rounds. Looking forward to playing it more over the weekend. Some good holes in it. the lava is cool.. |

http://image1.play-asia.com/170/7m/pa.137118.1.jpg It's the primary reason I picked up Soul Calibur and Street Fighter IV for the PS3 instead of the 360. You can try to read through the CAG stick thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/...d.php?t=192322 Here's the sdtekken review: http://sdtekken.com/tech-area/arcade...-pro-3-review/ |

Most aftermarket controllers are crap. I liked the logitech ones I had for the 360 but the logitech PS3 controllers have not gotten great reviews. The sixaxis and DS3 are just a little too small for my hands. Build quality is pretty important too me. I would rather struggle with the original Sony controllers than have one that won't last long. Dreamgear also makes the Warbeast guitar controller for the PS3 which looks really cool. I'm not sure how solid it is though. Anyone have any experience with Dreamgear products?
I wonder what Ben Heck charges for these? http://benheck.com/Games/Sony_projects/PS3/hero_reg.jpg http://gear.ign.com/articles/955/955499p1.html |

You know the final stage of Savage Moon isn't tough enough when you beat it on your first attempt.

Dude it's wired. If it was wireless it would be at least $60.
It's an adapter. It should be $15-$20 on the high side. The feedback on that article is nothing short of fantastic. Then again, it seems to be par for the course lately. Some choice responses: My hand cramps so damn bad when i play my friend's 360. 360 controllers blow!!!! The left stick always feels out of place, The 360 controller sucks. It's bulky, the left stick is badly placed, and the buttons are unresponsive dont know why i would use the 360 controller for my ps3 its way to big for it to be comfortable i reakon the xbox contoller is shit its not comfy and too bulky. Never been a huge fan of the Xbox controller. I feel like I could conduct real life brain surgery with a Dualshock. |

Guess I'm doing something wrong... I haven't played it in awhile but I remember getting stuck on the 5th or 6th level. I haven't found a good way to deal w/ the "spitters" yet (the ground bugs w/ the ranged attack).
Another thing I've found to be helpful is putting two repair towers within range of each other. The bugs can't attack quick enough before repairs are done. And: later stages I started putting towers on the ground. They're more likely to be directly attacked, but there isn't enough high ground to get what you need in those places. Of course, the flying "attackers" later are a whole different kind of pain. |

I mentioned the mac issue. IIRC, same company that makes MediaLink also makes 360 Connect. I have my systems on two different TVs so I bought both pieces of software. It's nice having access to everything in multiple rooms of the house. I've had the 360 version for a lot longer though just for custom soundtracks. I just picked up Media Link this weekend.
Anybody else taken a look at this? |

MP3 question: If I connect an external hard drive with all of my music to my PS3, can I use that for in-game music? Or does in-game music have to come from the internal HD?

Re: Official PS3 Thread - October 08 edition
I have no idea if they were worth it, but on my lunch break I stopped by Circuit City and got Mirror's Edge and Prince of Persia for the PS3 for $30 each.
|
Re: Official PS3 Thread - October 08 edition
They're short games, but together for $60, they're definitely worth picking up.
|
Re: Official PS3 Thread - October 08 edition
Cool, reviews look solid, so hopefully I'll enjoy them.
Also, for what it's worth, they were behind the customer service counter - not with the rest of the games and DVDs and stuff. I almost walked out of the store without even noticing them back there. |

PoP was awesome and the DLC hits next week.

Picked up a Nyko remote at CC today for $9.99. They still had quite a few (at least 20)left. My store had a sign that read final 9 days. They also had a good number of GH:World Tour Guitar and game only for $50 and GH:III Guitar and Game only for $35. Guitar only was $20.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - October 08 edition
So I’m a little behind on the TV show LOST and want to watch previous episodes on my PS3. It doesn’t seem to work with Hulu or ABC, are they any other sites that stream it?
|
Re: Official PS3 Thread - October 08 edition
Streaming? No
The only other legal way may be getting them from itunes, you have to pay, and then somehow stream it from your pc to the ps3. And no, I don't know if there's a program to do that. Aren't they in Xbox Live? |
