I think most ABC shows redirect.

Does the abc.com website not work with the PS3 browser?

No, I couldn't get it to work with LOST through ABC.com. I'm guessing because of the plug in.

So what is this PlayOn thing? Is it something I need to download and see if it works?

Playon is a media server software that runs on your pc. It's similar to Tversity. They have a free trial.

Just a warning. Hulu seems to be trying to break any TV support for the service. So far Playon has stayed up with the website changes, but I won't be surprised if Hulu finally breaks Playon streaming.

I was looking at those keyboard attachments for the controller this weekend. $50? Seriously?

Instead, I picked up a $12 USB keyboard at Wal-Mart (Logitech 200 FWIW), and it's just about my favorite accessory I've picked up for PS3. It makes the web browser usable, streamlines messages, and fixes text entry in LittleBigPlanet. It's wired, but what the hell, it just sits there on my coffee table.

Okay, i have to come back, even if it's embarrassing... Most other gaming sites are blocked by company, so no gaming news for the day makes everything slow and dull. DVD is not one of the blocking keywords, so it's still good. Looks like the place didn't change much. So yeah, this is my official hello.

Is that a wired keyboard?

Yes, but it doesn't bother me at all. I put a 3 ft USB extension on the cable and it just sits on the coffee table.

I think a wireless keyboard would go for about the same as the chatpad. ~$50

It's possible to beat Flower and get no trophies... Although, it's difficult to do, since you kinda have to know how to avoid the trophies. For example, the Flow trophy, i got it by chance and if you don't know how to avoid it, you'll get it.

Ocelot,
Not that are not welcome but... you can setup Google reader to receive feeds from all the main gaming sites (kotaku, joystiq, majornelson, etc.). I don't have access to those sites at work so I use Google Reader to check my gaming news.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - October 08 edition

thanks Raul3.

Kotaku - blocked
Joystiq - blocked
majornelson - blocked

It seems only dvdtalk is okay... I probably gonna do it with my Kindle 2.0, so we'll see.

Im in the same boat. Anything game related is blocked at work. Except for Ebgames.com  Even the game review images here in game talk are blocked.

Interface is nice and it is always good to try and catch up to the things the 360 has had forever. I love the RPG aspect of trophies on the PS3 though. They really got that part right. The gamer score on 360 really has never interested me, but knowing I'm 10% away from the next level up gets me playing for a trophy.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - October 08 edition

But what are the levels for? And how is it different from knowing your 100 points away from reaching 20k? for example?

Fandango 03-02-09 06:43 PM

Re: Official PS3 Thread - October 08 edition

The levels are just for comparison purposes, like gamerscore, its just done a different way.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - October 08 edition

After level 6, forget it... it takes almost forever to get to the next level. There's a formula how the levels are calculated, i don't know the details (not that geeky).

Out of curiosity, why no DVR?

When we moved we agreed to wait on getting cable. It's been OK for the most part since we don't watch much TV. But I do missing being able to record a show for a few weeks and then watch all the episodes in one sitting.

Duh. Here I was wondering why you'd have cable with no DVR...
