Currently downloading Home. 77MB.

EDIT: And 3077mb of reserved space gone.

Okay, how much like Second Life are they trying to make this thing anyway?

I called Sony tech support. One of the explanations they offered is that the 360 was plugged in to the same TV and wasn't letting the PS3 do 1080p (mind you, it had no problem letting it go up to 1080i but watch out if the PS3 wants to do 1080p). I told her I did the setup, the reset, and then she wanted me to know if I had other types of AV cables which I told her I did and they worked fine and then she wanted me to test the other AV cables

Then she wanted me to try another cable even though I told her that same cable had worked for a year AND it was outputting 1080i. I asked her if a defective cable could output 1080i but not 1080p and she had no answer to that. And what do you know, the XBOX cable WORKED. So then I thought wow I wonder what will happen if I take the cable that wasn't outputting 1080p on the PS3 and hook it up to the XBOX... worked fine. So now I have one cable that outputs 1080p on the XBOX but not the PS3 and another that outputs 1080p on both.

So she said WE FIXED IT !!! I asked her if she had any explanation and she said that when WE redid the settings it was fixed. I told her I HADN'T redone the settings or the hard reset during the call, all I did was switch the PS3 and XBOX cables and she said OH. Well, plugging them in and out fixed it (which I had (surprisingly )) already tried before.

So she kept saying WE FIXED IT! IT WORKS! So I thanked her and ended the call.

Any ideas why the same cable will do 1080p on the 360 but not the PS3 and why another cable will do 1080p on both? (so it's obviously not a damaged cable, not the PS3, and not the TV).

Off to see The Dark Knight!

Then you fixed it. Put the one that does P on the PS3, and the one that does both on the xbox. Done deal.

So I finally was able to log into Home. It's your crib from NFL 2K5 with microtransactions, advertising and a bunch of people pretending to be chicks. Am I missing anything?

Arcade games where if someone else is already playing them, YOU HAVE TO WAIT YOUR TURN IN LINE BEFORE YOU CAN PLAY THEM.

That is awesome.. because you know there are going to be ahole people that will just stand there "playing" the game so that no one else can.

The movie theater was awful as well. Too many people talking loud, standing, chatting and dancing in front of the screen so you couldn't see much of it.
I really think they should have put some kind of age limit on this thing.. Not just let anyone that has a PS3 create an account and log on.

Which is a shame, because the arcade games actually aren't all that bad. You know, when they're open.

It's similar to a real-life theater experience.

And they do have an age limit. 13+. I mean, surely you expect those under 13 to be truthful of their age and not create a home account, right?

13 is too young for my liking, but Sony doesn't want to restrict this much. They want to target the teen demographic with this marketing machi-- er, online community.

You know, I was going to tell you to try a different cable, but since it worked fine for 720p and 1080i, I thought that would not be the issue. I honestly can not say why that is, and I do A/V work for a living.

My brother lives in the boondocks, and he's stuck with a dial-up internet connection. He's gonna want to play the DLC expansion levels for Fallout 3. Is there any way to purchase and transfer the levels to his console? Has there been indication they'll be available on a separate disc (like the Oblivion expansions)?

A friend of mine sent me this post, from the PSN boards

Why do people change their sex of their avatar...

One minute an avatar is female, then three minutes later they have changed into a male, by the same user. This makes me sick... because I dont know who the person really is in real life..

Now I cant trust anyone in home....Because I had a deep conversation with a female avatar.. it was a male to female conversation (not a bad type conversation)

and when it bumped into the same user name three minutes later, she changed into a man....My head went spining... I ask what going on... and no decent reply weither MALE or Female.

I felt so embarressed........ she/he may tell others in home what we talked about. I afraid to go into home, and become a laughing stock...Apparently loads of people do this swap sex thing.....

Home should try to make people in home with their true identity
