Is it just me or is this game louder (the disk spinning in the drive) than other games?

What LE content is great? It seemed everything I was excited about was taken out of the package so I cancelled my preorder and was planning on getting a regular version tomorrow.

I noticed that right away, very annoying.

The Master Chief armor, weapon, and title. I only paid $66 for the LE from Amazon.

I am pissed now. I played the game earlier, and had a blast. I did save and quit, and didn't turn it on until later to show the wife.

I hit continue, and get an error that says "this file is corrupted and cannot be loaded." So I start a new game, figuring no big deal, I'll show her the beginning. I get to the spot I was before, and then play a bit farther. When I was ready to quit, I did save and quit again. Out of curiosity, I immediately tried to continue my game again.

The same friggin' error!

Now I have to start the fuck over again, and am left wondering if my progress is all for naught. What has been an awesome game has turned sour. I can't be the only one that is having this problem.

I have the same problem. For me it is unbearably loud. I even contacted Amazon thinking it was a defective disc. Maybe the replacement won't have the problem.

It sounds like the drive is overworking itself to me.

I found out that there is always a corrupt file (who knows why) but my saved games are in slots 2 and 3.

The game is great but I can only see about half the text on the very top of the screen on my Mitsubishi Rear projection TV. Kinda frustrating. I can sort of figure it out, but it's going to get really annoying. Hopefully it's mostly just tutorial stuff.

I did notice that the drive is louder than normal while playing this game.

Is it a compression thing that would require the drive to spin doubletime?

I played this game far too late into the night last night and now I'm paying for it at work. But so far it's great. I can't figure out how to actually commence having sex with someone, though. The manual says have them follow you, lead them to a bed, and hit A. When I do that, it only gives me the option to rest. And this is with my wife, so it's not like I chose a random person who hates me. What am I missing here?

Ditto. Had the same issue with Silent Hill Homecoming.

If you pull up the expressions menu using the right bumper, you can dismiss her under the social section and she'll go home. Or go have an affair. Whichever.

So you're the guy who keeps hanging around me asking me to marry him. I think the game refers to him as a "househusband."

I'm really enjoying this so far (I'm not far in). It's essentially the same type of game as the original, with a more open environment to play around in (whereas the previous game was more or less "on rails" the entire time).

When anyone is following you around too much you can 'dismiss' them with the down gesture. It looks like a hand.

Nope - but once I am able to play the game I will be the orb who once enters your game bolts one you and starts banging every chick in your game.

Good luck. I actually spent most of my time last night making every woman I meet fall in love with me. And, one of these days, once I figure out how the damn mechanic works, I will bed them, too.

I find it funny that it's harder for me to get some inside a video game.

I dismiss them with my flintlock pistol. Then I buy their house cheap and rent it out for profit.

I know this has probably been asked before, but how do you merge the Pub Games character with your hero?

It's listed in the manual. I don't remember offhand the exact process you need to take, though.

I'm generally playing through the game as a good guy, but one thing I'm doing that the game considers corrupt is I'm marking up the rent on every place I own to 100%, as well as the price of goods at any store I own.
