Re: Fable II
Looks like BB has this on sale this coming weekend for $29.99. I guess they are dropping the price since the market is going to be flooded with used ones from the new Elite bundles.

Re: Fable II
$29.99 will be hard for me to pass up. I've held off on this game and Fallout 3, due to having too many games to play, and it looks like I'll finally be pulling the trigger on Fable II this weekend.

I had been borrowing my copy from a friend and will be returning it before the new DLC comes out.
Perfect timing on the $30 price point. Hopefully, Amazon matches.

I wish this game let you turn off auto save or let you save multiple files. I hate not being able to try something out without having to worry the game might auto save.

So I married a prostitute...mainly because she was scantily dressed...then put a bun in her oven and produced a devil child. Then I discovered she was still street walking and giving me her earnings! Even though she's turning tricks every night she still has the nerve to bitch me out when I try to sleep with other women. Anyways I'm off try and be every prostitute's pimp.

Re: Fable II
OK, so I just rented this and I figured I'd check out the DLC before I start playing. There are two DL's, Knothole Island & See The Future. Listed on the Marketplace page are two versions of each, a 'premium' and a 'free' version. What's the difference? Are these add-ons any good/are they worth it? I plan on having the game for about 10-15 days, do I need the DLC?

Re: Fable II
So I just finally was able to get this through Gamefly. I popped it in and figured I would play for a couple of hours and the next thing I knew it was like 2am and I had barely even scratched the surface of the main story. I have a feeling that I could be playing this game for months. Does anyone know if you do the "Keep It" option through Gamefly if they send the case and manual? 34.99 isn't too bad for a game that I could get quite a bit of play out it.

Re: Fable II
Finished the main quest over the weekend, then downloaded Knothole Island and See the Future and just finished those up today (both are short but good, with some neat new costumes). Now I'm just achievement-whoring, which is actually kinda fun.

Re: Fable II
Finally grabbed this game from my stockpile.
Any general tips, hints, advice for a newcomer?
Specific questions:
1. Looks like you only get 1 save game slot. Any way around this (like save to a memory card) so I can have multiple saves or run a good and evil char at same time (or at least try out the two different themes without consequence)?
2. Money easy to come by as you progress?
3. Do I need to worry about where to spend my skill points or are you able to pretty much max out most skill trees by end game? (skill trees = the will magics, melee, and skill lines)
Thanks

2. Buy property. Any that you can afford. It takes a little while, but the income starts rolling in and building up quickly. Use that to buy even more property, and you'll be very wealthy before you know it.
3. It depends on how you play the game. I had every skill maxed out by the end of the game, but I took my time, finished every sidequest, and explored a lot. If you run through the main story with no sidequests and no exploring, you'll be far from maxing out your skills by the end.

Re: Fable II
Just picked this game up. I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm only at the part where Garth first gets kidnapped from the tower in Brightwood. I spent a lot of time maxing out my blacksmith skills and buying up property. I now own most of Market Square (minus the blacksmith, bar, and furniture store) and another house in Old Town where I live with the wife.
My problem is I can't have sex with any women in this game. I've only gotten it to work once. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I make sure the woman in question likes me, and then I get her to follow me to the bed. But when I hit 'a' at the bed, I just get the option to sleep - even if the woman is still following me. I've tried it with my wife and other girls around town but it never seems to work. Even if the proposition for a 'good time' and I do the thumbs up expression.
It only acivated properly once with my first wife (who I later lured out into a forest and murdered).

Re: Fable II
I am about to start this game and wondered about the DLC. I bought one of them when it was on sale in June and was going to go ahead and buy the other. Is it like Fallout 3 where the DLC just shows up on you map and is integrated into the game? Or is it completely separate and better to finish the game first and then you access the DLC at that point?
