For those that have finished it, how long did the entire game take you and what difficulty did you play on?

I played on Easy, as the achievements didn't deem otherwise and I wanted to not get angry with the game, and it took me 11 1/2 hours.

I got to level 5 in Zero G B-Ball. The trick to finding the ball is listening to it. When you are close, it's loud, and usually behind or above you.

I played on medium, and I think it took me around 13 hours.

For the Zero-G basketball you only need to find the ball one time per game(not each level) If you really want, just get the ball and let the time expire. Now you can start with the ball. For the first 4 or 5 levels you can be on the court closest to the baskets.

I beat it on hard and it took about 13 hours. Much more counting all my deaths.

I love this game so far, its awesome, visually its a stunner. One of the best looking games I ever played.

On chapter four where you go outside with the astroids, How do I cross the area? I just move and my guy gets killed. I tried 10 times probably, and keep dieing and i dont even know what hit me or what I did.

Take cover before running a little bit each time.

Finished this last night on medium in just under 13 hours. It was a great game, probably my favorite of the year so far, but by Chapter 10 I was ready to be finished.

Yeah, I was able to finish it yesterday too. Started early, at the beginning of Chapter 9, and finished a little bit before 4 am in the morning :O

Great game, good final big boss battle, I wasn't expecting that.

The game didn't have a lot of big boss battles, maybe one or two more, that may be weakness but that was fine for me.

We can both agree on System Shock 2 and Oblivion.

Finished this up over the weekend and loved it all the way through. I really like the game's approach to making things more difficult. It seemed like all the monster variants were introduced in the first couple chapters and the harder parts stemmed from throwing a bunch of them at you at once or locking down an area where you were trapped with them. The handful of bosses were really well done and built off what you'd already learned about the necromorphs, instead of artificially ramping up the difficulty by having some special 'technique' to killing them. I already started a second playthrough to pick up some achievements I didn't get the first time around, despite the fact that I have Fable II, Silent Hill IV and Little Big Planet sitting ignored on my shelf.

So is it safe or laughable to say that this game is better than Bioshock?

I found Bioshock more repetitive. Dead Space was better in using the settings where the game was being played. You are in space, there parts of the game with no gravity, no air, etc. You feel more in the space. In Bioshock although you are in the water you almost never have to fight water conditions. Dead Space ending, the final boss, was better too. I kinda like Dead Space enemies better too.

But Bioshock is my favorite game.
It's just that atmosphere, the design, the music. I already talk about the water, you don't feel like you are in the water, but you feel like you are in the 50's. I just love that time, those songs.

What's the highest level anyone got in the basketball game?

I got level 6 and stopped trying.

I downloaded all the videos from Xbox Live and there are really interesting for anyone that hasn't checked them. I think I appreciated them more after finishing the game. There dev diaries videos, trailers, teasers, and the comics that explain the origins of the "alien" artifact.

That damn worm boss in the hydroponic biolab is pissing me off. Each time I tried to beat him I ran out of ammo. So finally I sold everything I had and bought all plasma cutter ammo and still ran out. I spent 10 minutes or so shooting back the balls the middle creature shoots at you to no avail (did get 2 achievements)

I get the three worms done right away, but am I missing something about how to kill the middle thing? I just shoot whenever he opens up.

Ugh.

Kill the worms, then use your telekinesis to hold and throw the projectiles the mouth shoots out. He should shoot out five of them, so you hold and shoot the first one, which collides with the second one, do the same for the third and fourth, and the fifth one you'll be free to shoot back in his mouth.

Or just hold them in place and they crash into one another.

It's not. Bioshock was excellent, a 10. his game is an 8 or so.

Fallout 3 may be better than both, though. That's another story

So to kill the middle beast you need to either shoot the projectiles back into him when he is opened up? I feel like I was using telekenisis to catch and launch those things back for 10 minutes or more and finally just let myself die.

I played through on whatever the default difficulty is. For the section of the worm boss with him spitting rocks, I just ran to the left or right while he was launching them and then stopped to unload a couple shots into his mouth when he paused. It seems like it only took a couple minutes and he was toast. I had the plasma cutter pretty close to maxed out by that point though.

Yeah, you can also shoot him in the mouth, though I think he closes his mouth after the first shot... it's just that you can save ammo by using the telekinesis (or whatever it's called in the game)

How are the controls on this game on the PS3? I got the PC version because it was cheaper but the control scheme blows donkey. I'm think about taking it back and hoping to get an exchange for the ps3 version. Or anybody successful in getting the PS3 controller to work for this game on the PC?
