The best strategy I found... if there is an explosive canister nearby (the cylinders with the glowing red stripes), kinesis throw it into that thing and it'll go down in one hit.

And I agree, the flamethrower is the most useless weapon. I'm playing through a second time trying to get all the weapon achievements and that's the only one I haven't killed 30 with yet. I find myself running out of fuel for it before I've killed anything, then end up having to switch to one of my other weapons. I hadn't used the Pulse Rifle or the Ripper in my first playthrough, but I'm growing fond of those this time around.

I'm dying to find time to run through the game again. There's just too much going on right now.

I haven't tried but I read somewhere that the best strategy with the flamethrower, if you want the achievement, is to start with another monster and finish the monster with the flamethrower.

I would say rent it as well. kickass game but u should be able to finish it in 15-20 hrs.

Has anyone noticed the new DLC for this game out now? A bunch of 'weapons skins', some new suits, and some weapon upgrades. While I loathe this 'cheat code you pay for' practice in general, I'm sort of curious how the weapon upgrades are implemented. Personally I think if they were planning on nickel and diming us for this stuff, they could at least give us completely new weapons to buy and upgrade instead of just upgrades to the existing ones.

I wonder too what happens if you buy more than one of the suits. When I downloaded the (then free) system specific suit, and bought it from the store, it didn't allow me to buy any of the other suit upgrades, since it was already a level 5 suit. It probably made the game much easier (and having a bright white xbox-360 themed suit somehow made the game less scary), but I wouldn't know. If you buy more than one level 5 suit, can you choose between them?

I think it is crappy that they release downloaded content like this, but I'd be even more upset if they held back specific weapons for this... at least this way I can just ignore their little cheat codes.

I only need 3 achievements to bang 1000/1000. I'm working on the impossible mode right now and I think I'm on level ten. That'll give me 150, and I need zero-G basketball's 5 points, and 1 secret achievement for 25 points. I haven't had a working PC for weeks so I don't know what the secret is yet.

This is the game of the year for me, followed by COD5.

just got this as a gift. I dont play too many games but this was awesome!! I can't recommend this enough. It makes me wonder what else I've missed out on?

So I guess I'm not the only one having problems with that one. I saw a video strategy for it on Youtube that I need to try. Basically they concentrated on the center viewing square and ignored anything outside of that unless their center was completely clear. They passed in the 60% range.

I played last night and got to that part (on Impossible Mode). I failed it 4-5 times then got through it at 41%. I could tell right away that I was going to get through it, there seemed to be alot less asteroids. I'll take my 41% and finish the impossible achievement, then I'll go back & keep playing for the cocky achievement.

God, I really do love this game.

Impossible mode completed! I actually beat the final boss without taking any damage...Now for the 2 secret achievements, but I'll never be able to do the Zero-G basketball, that'll give me 995 on the game.

Zero-G was easy from what I remembered. Think I got it on my first try. I just stood in one spot and kept shooting the ball. After a basket when it would get shot back into play I just grabbed it and shot again.

Just beat the game tonight and it is one of the best games I've played in awhile. Can't believe this came from E.A.
