Me neither. I want to like it, but the gameplay just feels a bit akward and repetitive.Originally Posted by Spicollidriver1

Magic seems pretty cool. There are a lot of whiners saying the lack of customization is unacceptable because of MAgic being all about that but. I think this is about how it should be with this game. The one thing I did feel is that the deck seemed kind of small and I quickly figured out what the deck was and just waited out one or two cards before I dropped the hammer. One question for those who shelled out the cash already is there 2 color decks?
I haven't played magic for a long time so in the demo I haven't seen much that I was confused by and many cards that I remember from when I did play. Do the cards and play get more advanced later on in the game.

I've seen some of the upcoming opponents has a mutli colored deck, so I assume since there's 8 in the game, you'll get to use those as well. Originally Posted by Spicollidriver1

I would love more customization, but I think this is right on for the price point.

I could see customization coming with some DLC expansion. Let those that want it pay the extre $5-10 dollars for the ability.

The studio behind Xbox LIVE Arcade title Magic: The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers “have a bunch of DLC planned,” but the optional content won’t be offered like many fans have imagined. Instead of traditional boosters, Stainless Games will provide entire decks. In other words, there won’t be any random cards or buyer’s remorse: you know what you’re going to get when you buy it.
“A good way to think of it is like the old theme decks or our current intro decks. It’s that kind of option to add onto your gaming experience,” Magic senior brand manager Worth Wollpert told us. “And it’s all set. It’s not randomized at all.”
Future downloadable content will also add themes, play mats, and Gamer Pictures.
Curiously, the price of the downloadable content is still in the air. Apparently Microsoft will have the final word on what the DLC will cost. “As far as price, all that stuff is dictated by Microsoft,” Wollpert said. “The game itself came out at 800 [Microsoft] Points, which we think is an absolute steal of a value, frankly.”
When asked if Microsoft was publishing the title, Wollpert responded with a yes and noted, “but they set all of the pricing for the platform. All of it. We get input, but the final decision is all theirs.”
So, yes, Duels of the Planeswalkers will have downloadable content and it won’t be ticky-tacky booster packs with random cards. You’ll be buying decks modeled after the eight or so included with the game. Not bad, but we’re still wondering about the price, specifically what Microsoft will decide the DLC is worth worth.
They better have it where if I buy a deck and my opponent doesn't, I can still use it on them. It would be senseless otherwise. However, that would mean that all the cards are already in the game (or in a future, forced update) and you're merely paying to unlock the right to use the content - sort of like the whole Vader/Yoda debacle in SCIV. That may bite them in the ass a little, especially when the alternative is custom decks. The studio behind Xbox LIVE Arcade title Magic: The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers “have a bunch of DLC planned,” but the optional content won’t be offered like many fans have imagined. It could work if you had to download the latest version when you load the game, like a patch with those new cards, even if you can't use them.Originally Posted by pinata242

Yup. That's what I said, "forced update". You can't play online without the latest update and if you arent online, you aren't playing against me Originally Posted by lordwow

Has anyone tried the challenges yet? There's only 8 of them and they are puzzling. Still can't figure out #3. Got #4 on my first try and great satisfaction when I finally figured out #5 and #7. Check them out.

Challenge 8 is broken!
I got her down to -4 health even before the attack turn and she still won, -4 to 2.
Still need that one and #6 to complete them all.

I've gone in order and I'm stuck on either #5 or #6, can't remember which. Whichever one has you using the green deck. Got the dude down to 1. Originally Posted by pinata242

BTW...I don't think there's been less than 7-8 people playing MTG on my friends list at any given time over the last two days. Haven't seen this many people playing the same thing since GTAIV came out.
Also...can anyone confirm if someone quits a ranked match do you not get the win? I played my first one last night just to check it out, the guy quit half way through, and then it put me back in the menu with no record that I could find of me having won the match. That would be stupid lame if that's the case, and probably keep me from playing with folks I don't know.

I lied about #8 being broken - my brain is. I need to check the opponent's cards more carefully.
Still need #6 and #8. I can offer advice on the others and am open to help on those two from around here.

Yes unfortunately if someone quits during a game he won't get a loss and you won't get a win. It kind of stinks, also people can see what deck your playing before the game starts and quit. I don't think they should allow your opponent to see your deck color until the game starts.

That is the single fucking dumbest thing I've ever heard!! How could they not plan ahead for that?! LAME!
I guess just friends list games till that's changed.

I need 5 ranked wins, though... Anybody want to try to boost? Might be too busy for that now.

Man Magic is kicking my ass, I can't get past the 3rd guy in the campaign. I even changed the difficulty to mage, I keep getting crappy hands to much mana. Just like in real life I guess.

You guys have gone into the Deck Manager after you unlock new cards to make sure they're in your deck, right?

I check my cards after I win, and make sure there in my deck. On the other hand I don't have to many new cards since I have only won 2 games. People are complaining about not being about to take cards out of the decks. You can only remove cards you have unlocked, the rest are static to the deck. So no deck building.Originally Posted by pinata242

I understand wanting it simplified and having very limited deck building. But i wish, at the very least instead of adding the unlocked cards i could swap them out with another card on a 1:1 ratio.

Yeah, you can only remove the cards you've unlocked. You can't touch the base deck.
Peggle update: only 2 challenges left. 14-4 (score 900,000 on 3 levels) and 14-5 (score 1M on 3 levels).
