Not sure if this was mentioned, but it looks like the current free Playstation Mobile game for the Vita is Lemmings.

Already have Patapon and Patchwork heroes but excited about the two others. Now that Knytt Underground finally has a demo, I might check it out and pick it up on sale.

Can't do a cut and paste right now, but those guesses for PS Plus March update were spot-on. We'll be getting Spec Ops The Line, The Cave, Joe Danger 2 The Movie, Disgaea 3 for Vita and Tekken 6 for PSP. That's a solid month.

With Spring on the horizon, we figured it might be time to test a new format of delivering your PS Plus updates. This month, we’re providing an outlook of the major stuff hitting the Instant Game Collection in March with this update, but you’ll still want to check the weekly posts to see the discounts and any other freebies available to you as a PS Plus member.

that's a pretty quick appearance for The Cave, what's it been out 4-6 weeks?

Alright, let me ask a dumb question. What would be the reason to sign up for Playstation Plus right now? Since they have already announced that games from PSN will not carry over to the PS4, all of those games will be dead as soon as you stop paying for a subscription, correct? And didn't they already announce that there will be a tiered subscription for PS4 that might be separate from the PS3 subscription? Again, this is just a question because I almost jumped on that deal for the 1 year + 3 months, but then thought if the new Playstaion Plus subscription doesn't carry over to the PS4 that I might be paying for a subscription that won't even work on the new console. Or is that the whole point of this? To get people who are not ready for the next gen to stay entertained on the PS3?

I haven't heard such a thing. I fully expect PS+ to be made available on the PS4, just like they did with the Vita. Sure, the Ps3 games won't work on it, but they'll still work on your ps3, and then eventually PS4 games will be added. Once the streaming gets kicked off, then they'll probably add additional tiers to be able to stream older games, and I've got to think they'd make PS+ one of the tiers.

Seems like the pricing for PS+ should be different if you just want PS3 games.

I want to use that $10 gift card PSN sent me before it expires tomorrow. Does anyone know if the "classic" Final Fantasy available on PSN is the same as the old NES version?

Are there any other old NES / SNES games on PSN? How about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade games? Is Altered Beast the arcade version or the awful Sega Master System version?

The redemption code expires, not the $10 credit. As long as you redeem the code, the credit will stay in your account until you decide to use it.

Altered Beast is the Arcade version. It's incredibly easy and short when you don't have to plunk down quarters to continue though.

Final Fantasy Origins was a PS1 release that contains the original Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II (which is the original Japanse Final Fantasy II for NES, which was never released in the US before that. Final Fantasy II on SNES is actually Final Fantasy IV). Both have slightly updated graphics (think SNES quality), but are basically the same games. Final Fantasy IV (Final Fantasy II on SNES), and Final Fantasy VI (Final Fantasy III on SNES) are also available, and are basically the same as their SNES counterparts, though IV is the harder version that was only released in Japan. Final Fantasy III on PSN is a re-make of the the orignal Japanese FFIII for NES, re-done in 3D. It was never released in the US until a few years ago, when they remade it for Nintendo DS. Final Fantasy V is the Japanese Super Famicom (SNES) game, that was first released in the US for PS1 on a combo package with FFIV. Chrono Trigger is from another such combo package, orignally released with FFVI. Basically the same as SNES.

Turtles in Time used to be available on PSN, but I think Konami yanked it.

The Simpsons Arcade Game is available.

In the vein of SNES games, there's an HD version of Earthworm Jim.

...Okay... So I read all of that like ten times and I think I understand now that Altered Beast is the arcade version.

Not sure if just joking or you really don't understand, but I'll try to make it really simple

Japanese = US NES/SNES Releases
I = I
II = Not released in US
III = Not released in US
IV = II
V = Not released in US
VI = III

For VII and beyond, number is the same worldwide. During the Playstation generation, all of the games except III were re-released with their original Japanese numbering, which is what is now available on PSN. III was remade in 3D just a few years ago for Nintendo DS, and also later released for PSP in Japan only, and for tablets. I've never played III on PS3, but assume that what they have on PSN is some version of that.

EDIT: And I just double checked and III is only availble for PSP/Vita, so it's the PSP version, and can't be played on PS3, so nevermind

Altered Beast is the Sega Genesis version. It was part of a collection of Genesis games with Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Streets Of Rage 2, Comix Zone and Golden Axe. Online play was added to some of them, Altered Beast being one of them.

If you like fighting games, there's the Mortal Kombat Kollection, which comes with 1, 2, and the Ultimate Version of 3. They're all arcade ports with online play added to each of them.

You won't find very many NES/SNES games on the PS3, I think the Wii store would be better for that.

Wrong. Altered Beast on PSN is the Arcade version (Both versions were on the Genesis collection disc, arcade version was an unlockable.)

I've got PS Plus, but I don't have a Vita. Can I download the free Vita games to my PS3, in case I buy one in the future? Or does it download those games directly to the Vita?

You don't have to download them. Just "purchase" them in the store and then they'll be in your history whenever you do decide you want to download them.
