Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Journey is incredible.

I read a post about a guy obtaining a trophy that really shows how awesome the game is. If you press Select, your character sits down (or "meditates"); if you and a companion both do so for 20 seconds, you get the trophy. Sounds simple, but without communication it can be difficult, since the other play may just think you're taking a break or whatever and not do it.

This guy played through the game 5 times and was unable to do it, until he got someones attention, and slowly walked through the snow and "drew" a trophy on the ground, and then sat down. The other player followed, and he finally got his trophy. That's simply beautiful.

I went hog wild yesterday. Got FF IX, FF Tactics War of the Lions and FF IV Complete for $25 total. Might still get FFVI, but don't know if it's worth me getting as it seems like a long time until I would be able to get to it.

I'd love to play Journey, but will wait on it for a bit to see if a sale hits by the Summer. The free Journey Dynamic theme is now available for all PS Plus members and it's really nice.

Ahh yeah, that's my mistake... VI is III in the US. Wrong game, I got confused.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Turns out the April episode of Qore will be the last. I don't know why they decided to call it quits, but it probably wasn't bringing in any more money since it's free with PS Plus. It was never that substantial, but I liked checking it out every month. I'm sorry to see it go, but at least they put together a nice compilation of arcade games in the April issue as a going-away present.

See! And that's the reason I didn't buy Trine 2 or Awesomenauts. Yay!

I figured at least part of the reason that you didn't buy Awesomenauts was that it hasn't been released yet.

But yeah, it's a really nice month. I own SotN on the 360 and the PSP, but this version will still be appreciated if they ever get PSOne games to work on the Vita. I never bought Trine 2 or Rock of Ages, but for free, I'm happy to get both.
I'm keeping PS Plus for at least as long as I still play a PS3.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

The German publisher of Awesomenauts, dtp entertainment, has just filed for insolvency. There was concern that the game wouldn't get released, but according to Playstation's Twitter account, it's still coming out tomorrow and free for PS Plus members still. Hope this situation doesn't screw up the online servers, though. Also no word on whether it still will be coming to XBLA.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

PSN updated with all the new games. One thing though, I thought vita DD games were supposed to be like 10% off of retail, then why is MK showing 39.99 still?

I know the first party titles show a 10% discount, but not all third party titles do. So, maybe it's up to the (third party) publisher if they participate in the digital discount. I haven't bought anything digitally yet, 10% isn't enough of discount for me to use up my memory card storage.

This is why I think that the next gen systems will fail if they go download only and keep the same pricing scheme (scam).

Played a little Awesomenauts online last night and enjoyed it. It was not the kind of game I thought it was going to be, but so far seems fun.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I'm glad they are offering decent free games because I currently have no way to cancel my PS+. I'm stuck in the $17.99 for 3 month plan. I'm gonna end up paying $72 bucks a year if this keeps up.

I can't change my account or billing info because PSN asks for my password which I've forgot, and when I try the forget password link on their website, it says it cant verify me. DAMN YOU SONY!

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Why not call them at (800) 345-SONY ? They should be able to help you with that.

Was Rock Of Ages free this week? I had forgotten about that one and didn't see it listed with the PS Plus freebies after the latest store update.

I'm fairly certain that ROA releases on the 15th

That would make sense, but it's not what the picture above shows.

Tried the 4AM viewer. There's a reason they call it that -- I tried it at 6 PM and there was nobody to watch playing it.

Well to be fair, the picture above doesn't say ANY date on it lol

And the spoiler in that post clearly says 5/15

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Look again.

edit : Yup, you're right. Under the spoiler it does say 5/15. The monthly PS Plus picture above showed it as a 5/1 release, but now that picture is unavailable, which is weird as it was just up.

edit 2 : Looked at the Playstation Blog and they changed the image to reflect the new date. Cheaters!

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Big ol' PixelJunk sale this week:

Upcoming Deals

PS3

PixelJunk Eden - $1 - Begins 5/8, Ends 5/15
PixelJunk Monsters - $1 - Begins 5/8, Ends 5/15
PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap - $1 - Begins 5/8, Ends 5/15
PixelJunk Shooter - $1 - Begins 5/8, Ends 5/15
PixelJunk Shooter 2 - $5 - Begins 5/8, Ends 5/15
PixelJunk Sidescroller - $5 - Begins 5/8, Ends 5/15

PSP

PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe - PSP (Vita on May 15) - $5 - Begins 5/8, Ends 5/15

I own almost all of them already, unfortunately (though at least I got them all on sale). I'll probably finally get Racers for a buck. Still undecided on Sidescroller. And though I own the UMD of Monsters for the PSP, I might rebuy it for the Vita at that price (wish that one was a buck as well).
