Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Journey is also on sale starting today for $11.99.

Sorta want to pick it up, but I'm also mightily interested in the bundle pack coming in August. Even though I have Flow and Flower already, the three extra games plus all the bonuses to me might be worth the $18 extra dollars. I just wonder if everything is on disc, or if some of it is via download voucher.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I'll probably pick up Journey on this sale. Then again, I waited this long, I can wait a little longer too. I doubt they'll make this one a freebie, but you can bet it'll drop to $7.50 sometime soon.
I own flOw and Flower and won't be buying them again for a few bonuses on a disc.

We should have our July update coming this weekend. I'm curious to see what transpires. I think they'll pull like 5-6 of the games and replace them with others, but are unlikely to swap all 12 freebies. I bought Mafia II during that "Complete Collection sale, where inFamous 2 and Just Cause 2 were also featured, so I wouldn't be surprised if it were a free game of July now. We'll see soon enough.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Okay, no official announcement yet, but after the store update, it looks like three PSN games (Virtua Fighter 5 Final showdown, Zombie Apocalypse :Never Die Alone, and Hard Corps: Uprising are being pulled. I would guess that means we get three new PSN games next month and everything else stays a while.

PSN Summer Sale discounts Shadow of the Colossus, Closure, more next week

PSN's Summer Sale offers discounts on a bunch of random PS3 games, none of which seem particularly summer-themed. The lack of seasonal appropriateness is forgiveable, however, when you see that Shadow of the Colossus HD is available for $13.99, or $9.79 for Plus users.

From this Tuesday, July 3, through July 9, eleven games will be discounted 30%, or 50% with Plus. The games include Crysis, Gotham City Impostors, Closure, and – why not? Real Steel.

Gotham City Impostors: $10.49 ($7.34 with Plus)
NBA Jam On Fire Edition: $10.49 ($7.34 with Plus)
Shadow of the Colossus: $13.99 ($9.79 with Plus)
Infamous Festival of Blood: $6.99 ($4.89 with Plus)
Crysis: $13.99 ($9.79 with Plus)
Killzone 3 Multiplayer: $10.49 ($7.34 with Plus)
Closure: $13.99 ($9.79 with Plus)
Jurassic Park: $13.99 ($9.79 with Plus)
Worms Ultimate Mayhem: $10.49 ($7.34 with Plus)
The House of the Dead 3: $4.89 (3.42 with Plus)
Real Steel: $6.99 ($4.89 with Plus)

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Here's what we get next week :
(I guess you can ignore what was written above about Gotham City Imposters being $7.34 for Plus members)

I already bought Renegade Ops at launch, but at least I can say I really liked that game and those who don't have it yet are in for a treat.

BTW : Remember that Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, Hard Corps Uprising, and Zombie Apocalypse : Never Die Alone all will be pulled tomorrow so if you haven't grabbed those with your Plus membership yet, do it tonight.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Oh yeah, and Rainbow Moon comes out tomorrow. It's $14.99 and $11.99 for PS Plus. It looks like a very decent RPG and has an ungodly amount of gameplay for a downloadable title.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Looks like I can put off Plus for another month. Those PS3 games do nothing for me. The PSN ones that do, I already have on XBLA. Everything else is middling and easy to pass on a month's subscription.

We should see more free content rotate in within a couple of weeks instead of a single monthly update, per the PS Blog Community Manager. I'll keep the thread updated.

Nice Atlus Sale going on now in case anyone hasn't noticed yet:

I picked up P3P, but need to delete something from my Vita's memory card before I can download and play it.

^^^^Except for the long ass commercial before the game trailer it looked ok. I'm not sure if it knows exactly what type of action game it is though. Some parts flying and some parts Gauntlet.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

The PSN Store is having their first-ever Vita games sale now. They have 30/50% discounts (everyone/PS Plus) on three games. I highly recommend Hot Shots Golf World Tour ($17.50 for Plus); it's a solid, fun and bright, cartoony golf game for the Vita. They have Hustle Kings for $5 for Plus members -- it's not great, but it's functional and comes with a PS3 version as well. Finally, they have the launch title Virtua Tennis 4 for the Vita. I've never played it, but the folks on CAG were universal in their praise of this game, so I bought it and am downloading it now. It's $20 for PS Plus members.

Crap, I bought the first 2, that blows

This just tells me not to buy anymore of the episodes now as they'll probably all be free later.

Or, like the Sly game, it will only be the first 2 free to PS+ members.

I know the feeling : I bought BTTF the first time it went on sale, never played it and sure enough it went free for PS Plus like a month later.

FWIW : Morgan Haro at the PS Blog replied to a question about the upcoming episodes thusly :
It’s certainly not a guarantee that the rest of the WD episodes will be coming to Plus. We review what the best content is that we can secure from month to month. So I wouldn’t assume that the rest of WD is coming to Plus.
I still won't be buying any future episodes as long as I'm in PS Plus

The more I see of Sound Shapes the more interested I am in it. Still not sure if I want to pre-order to get the free theme rather than wait for the demo, but it does look cool.

<object classid="clsid><param name="movie" value="//www.viddler.com/player/1b59c537/0/"/><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"/><param name="allowNetworking" value="all"/><param name="allowFullScreen"value="true"/><param name="flashVars" value="f=1&openURL=24761557&autoplay=f&disablebranding=f&view_secret=24761557"/><embed src="//www.viddler.com/player/1b59c537/0/" width="545" height="349" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="always" allowFullScreen="true" allowNetworking="all" name="viddler_Joystiq_9,201" flashVars="f=1&openURL=24761557&autoplay=f&disablebranding=f&view_secret=24761557"></embed></object>

There are still so few games for the Vita and PS3, that I'm really thinking about getting this one now during the promotion.

I'm not a fan, but they're popular SHMUPS, so some one here might want to grab them while they still can.

I'm looking forward to getting Sound Shapes tomorrow. I preordered it early for the classy free theme available with pre-order only
Spoiler:

Now I have a week to decide if I want to pre-order Papa & Yo for that free theme as well or wait for reviews after the game comes out in a week. It looks beautiful, but so did Sideway: New York so I guess you never know what you're getting until the game comes out.

BTW : There will be a good deal on a full game of debatable quality starting tomorrow --
Two Worlds 2 Velvet Edition - $9.99 - Begins 8/7

At that price it might be hard for me to pass up

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

And here.

I'm really liking Sound Shapes so far. It's kinda weird. Looks like Loco Roco, but plays as a platformer with musical elements (i.e. hazzards move in time with the beats, platforms come and go along with vocals). It's kind of a trip. There are some nice user-generated levels already. Also love the Vita/ PS3 cloud saving cross-play. It's a cool feature and I wish more games had it (especially since it's "buy once, play on both systems". This game has potential, even if it's pretty simplistic.
Also it's about 1 GB in size, which is quite the space hog when you have an 8GB card in your Vita. Seems like an ineffective use of data space based on how simplistic the graphics and gameplay are. I can't wait for the 32 GB card to drop significantly in price...
