I do. It's pretty good, actually. It has 28 games, including the first two Sonics (I know, kinda skimpy on the biggest title), 3 Eccos and Phantasy Stars II-IV. I like Comix Zone and Golden Axe 1-3 for quick playthroughs. I wish I had the game as DLC, since it doesn't really have enough to keep me carrying around the UMD, but for short gaming bursts, it's worth it. At $10, it's a total bargain.

BTW: I obviously misread the original site. The deals start Christmas Eve (and, I assume that's when the PSN update happens as well), not Tuesday.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I still haven't gotten around to playing VC, but I feel somehow compelled to buy the DLC.

I'm a bit disappointed in Burn Zombie Burn, as it doesn't play like a twin-stick shooter, and I expected it to.

I am extremely happy with Pixeljunk Shooter though.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Totally agree about Burn Zombie Burn. If it were really a twin stick shooter it would be a lot more fun. Still, I kind of like the risk/reward aspect to the gameplay using fire. Once I figure out how to actually shoot and move correctly, I might like it more. In either case, for $5 I'll buy just about anything and compared to some of the dreck I've purchased at that price (Brain Challenge, I'm looking at you), this is at least half-way decent.

PixelJunk Shooter is indeed a very good game. I think I could have, and perhaps should have waited for the Spring sale, but ended up with some store credit and my curiosity got the better of me. It's a fine, clever game. My main problem with it is that spinning the ship to aim feels inaccurate and I'l over-rotate a lot and miss aiming at my target. It usually doesn't result in death, but it's still frustrating.

I'm waiting it out. A sale or I'll use the $20 Amazon PSN credit on it before it expires, whichever comes first.

It'll certainly get some play, but the controls just don't feel "right" to me. I'm kind of wishing I'd spent the extra $5 on a good twin stick shooter.

I tend to use the missiles a lot, which are homing, and perhaps this is why I do it. I absolutely love the water/lava gameplay and effects.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Thanks Decker. I'll probably get the Sega collection.

Chess, have you at least tried the VC demo? I think it's one of the best games the PS3 has to offer.

And with regard to PJ Shooter, my only problem was how short it was. It felt like a demo, or the warmup boards to get to know the controls before a game really starts. Other than that, I loved it.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I actually have owned VC for quite a while...almost a year, I think.

And yes, I played and dug the demo. It's just the sort of game that feels like a huge commitment to start.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Speaking of PSN sales - how often has 'Ratchet & Clank : Quest For Booty' been on sale in the past? I'm sure it's worth it for full retail price but if it goes on sale from time to time i could wait......

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

It's not worth it for full price. Hell at $10 (on sale) it seemed like it was a bit on the steep side. I think it's only been on sale once.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I'm thinking it's been on sale twice, and honestly, I didn't enjoy it as much as any of the other ratchets...and it wasn't just the length.

I would totally bite on Burnout if my disc-based save could transfer over.

Why wouldn't it? It works like that on the Xbox.

UPS just delivered my Valkyria Chronicles so I may jump on the DLC while it's on sale. Are all three extras worth it?

At least in the past, the PS3 disc-based save wouldn't transfer over to the downloaded version. You had to start all over, unless it got fixed in an update. I'll have to do some research.

Here's a review: http://www.destructoid.com/destructo...c-129193.phtml

In essence, Behind her Blue Flame is a must (four missions in total). Edy's mission is a lamer single mission. And the Extra Hard Mode gives your scouts an anti-tank gun and you lose your tank.

I'm gonna pick up BHBF, and maybe the other two just to support such a great game.

Cool, thanks. I'll probably just get the BHBF one.

What DLC is included in this Burnout Paradise Ultimate Bundle? I just bought the disc-based game for $15. Would it be worth returning the disc to buy the Ultimate Bundle instead? I generally prefer to have the disc... but if it's that great of a deal, I'll make the necessary adjustments.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

It adds the party bundle for local "multiplayer." I say multiplayer because you can't race with someone else you have to hand off the controller to someone else. Haven't played it personally but it hasn't gotten favorable reviews.

If you prefer to have the disc, then keep the disc.

Thanks, wiz. Sounds like I don't really need the DLC anyway.

No problem. And the only reason I'd do it is I'd prefer to not have the disc and this is technically a good deal, but in no way am I willing to lose the 60+ hours I've put into the game.

Good lord that game is good....another one (along with Uncharted and Borderlands) that the Warhawk group should hook up and play. The challenges are purely co-op and are a blast!

Bummer. If the bundle had the extra cars and the island DLC, I'd have tossed my 360 copy and bought it just for that stuff.

I'm up for some Paradise any time. This is still the most played game I have for the PS3, and the only game I have the platinum trophy for.
