Not that this game takes much space, but I still have a ton of space on the PS3, and none on the PS4. I have a ton of arcade/downloaded games on the PS3 nicely tucked into their files, and none on the PS4, so I'd rather keep it there with all the other similar games. Also, I actually hate using my PS4 controller right now, as the rubber on the thumbstick is torn and worn out. I like the digital pad/buttons on the PS3 controller better. Enough reasons for you?

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Agree. If you have both consoles, wanting something on PS3 instead of PS4 is mind bogglingly weird.
THANK YOU to Matty for the heads up on Woah Dave PS4. I love that style of game and would happily pay $5 for Super Crate Box or Muffin Knight on PS4. They're just great little pallet cleansers, and while I had it already on Vita, it feels better to me on PS4 for some reason. And it's also very good IMO. Fun game.

What's even more mind bogglingly weird is not accepting actual logical reasons why someone would prefer something. It's not like I'm pulling these reasons out of my ass. My PS4 is telling me I don't even have enough room for it to record my gameplay (not that it's something I'd do), so why take up more space there when I have plenty of the PS3? Basically, I still play plenty of downloaded games on the PS3, and the PS4 is just disc-based games and all things being equal it's just more convenient to have it on the PS3. For now.

I switch between playing PS3 and PS4 regularly and while yes the PS4 controller is better I have no problem going back and playing something on the PS3 controller.

And moreso, it's the idea of being angry that you can't buy a new game on a dead console, particularly when you own the newer console.
And really, how big can the file size be for a game like Axiom Verge?

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
On a whim, I played a good bit of Oddworld: New and Tasty, which was free on PS+ a few months back.
Having never played the original games, I don't quite have the nostalgia for them that others might, but I'm finding the game to be most excellent. It has a great story and graphics and some interesting puzzles. My only critique is that the game requires some pretty precise controls, and the game's controls don't exactly feel precise. I'd say that at least 75% of my deaths are simply the controls not cooperating. It would help if they'd let you use the d-pad, I think.
Highly recommended though and a great freebie.

Edit: And finished it. Great game.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
More progress on PS+ games over the past week, as I played a few more after loving Oddworld.
Valiant Hearts was awesome. The gameplay is part adventure game and part puzzle platformer with some action thrown in here and there. I thought it was one of those games where the storytelling was well beyond what you normally see in games, because in a handful of specific instances, it uses the gameplay to put the player in a state of mind rather than relying on exposition. It was probably 4-5 hours long, and it's not as dreary as you might think. There's plenty of goofiness in there.
Never Alone wasn't quite as good as Valiant Hearts, but it was charming as fuck. It's a straight puzzle platformer and was probably 3-4 hours long. An evening well spent.
Tower of Guns was the big surprise for me, because I played it a lot. It's a roguelike FPS with the same randomness and "one more try" quality of games like Binding of Issac or Rogue Legacy. It's a lot of fun, but it does have some framerate issues in later levels.
I also finally (and barely) checked out the DLC for Resogun. Amazing game made more amazing.
Next up is Swapper, I think.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Guess I'm the only one reading this thread.
Tried Apotheon instead of Swapper, since it's apparently a Metroidvania of sorts. Nice premise and art, but I didn't like the physics at all. Deleted.
I also tried some of the alternate modes in Resogun, and god damn that game is good!!! I forget the name of the mode, but there's one that's a little bit Defender meets Arkanoid, and I found it incredibly addictive. The other mode was called "Commando", I think, and it was sort of Missile Command meets Centipede with an Ahnuld parody voiceover. I recommend the season pass wholeheartedly, because they've added some really meaninful content.
Housemarque.

No, I'm here too. Just nothing noteworthy to post. The past two weeks of the Spring Sale are/were kind of lackluster.
I've been meaning to try all of those games you mention. The 'free' PSN Plus games I've played lately are: Rogue Legacy and Steamworld Dig. Both are great and addicting.
I have also played Resogun on both PS4 and Vita. Frickin' awesome game. I need to try those new modes.

Yeah, I'm here too. Nothing of interest to post lately. Hoping for a decent sale soon, though to be honest, between the two free games here a month and the one I get from Games With Gold I rarely see the upside in buying indie games with real money anymore, even when on sale. That makes an eight week run of featured Indie games extra-disappointing because I know I won't be buying any of them. Well, maybe Shovel Knight...

Can't recommend Oddworld or Valiant Hearts highly enough. Both are phenomenal.
And Never Alone is a single evening game that is well worth that tiny investment.
As for the Spring Sale, I thought every single game looked interesting, including this week's Titan Souls. Shadow of the Colossus meets Link to the Past? Yeah, alright.

Yeah, I played some Oddworld. It's really an original game - funny and warm with a cool art style. Unfortunately it's hard as hell. My son likes to watch me play, but soon gets frustrated as I die over and over again and then he storms out of the room telling me how boring it is!

I'm pressed to think of earlier examples of a "puzzle platformer" where you solve your way through on a "per screen or per level" basis with lots of deaths, but those design elements are incredibly prevalent in today's games.
I tried the PS1 classic versions a few times, but I found the presentation and controls a bit offputting and always lost interest. This new version has a much nicer presentation, and I still have some issues with the controls, but they're serviceable. It really hooked me, and I finished it in a couple of sittings.
It's a great way to try out a classic IMO.

So my PS+ ran out and my account got cancelled since there was a problem with my payment. maybe my credit card expiration date wasnt updated.
So do i lose access to all the games i download in the past even if i rebuy PS+ (like through ebay for 40 bucks)?

I recently had a lapse in my subscription, and not only did I get back access to all my games when I re-subscribed, but I also got back everything that I had saved in the cloud.

I picked up Lords of the Fallen..since it is a dark souls clone...and gets solid reviews.
Also, just got my platinum on Bastion. If you missed it on 360 (I never got around to it) it really is a fun, if short, game. I honestly thought Transistor was better, but at least the platinum as a little harder on Bastion.
