Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum
wait wait wait....there's an "action Camera"? I read this in Gameinformer in a Tips for B:AA article but I don't think I've ever used it.

The action camera is the camera that sometimes follows projectile weapons as they fly through the air - it's not another camera for watching regular gameplay.

General Tips:
Action Camera: The action camera shows Batman executing certain moves in a cool view. For example, if you hold the RT button while glide kicking a thug from a vantage point, the camera changes to show Batman swooping from the Thug's perspective. You can also use the action camera with certain gadgets, for example, pressing RB instead of RT to fire the Batarang makes the camera follow it, which is great Batarang-to-face close up shots.

Yeah, just hold down R2 when using any of your gadgets. I would use it with the batarang when I wanted to get a better look at something far away (hidden riddles and shit like that). I haven't used it on the glide kicks yet, I'll have to try that out.

Yeah I tried it after my post. I used Right Bumper to throw Batarangs instead of Right Trigger during the Killer Croc level.
It's an alternative firing method for most of the gadgets using Right Bumper to fire. I think I've used it by accident now that I think about it. I can remember a couple times where was aiming a Batarang, and instead of the normal camera view of Bats throwing and watching the hit from a distance, the camera followed the errant throw hitting a wall.
When Bats is using the zip line, you see him from the front instead of the back. But then you can't see where to land so it's not the best thing for this gadget.

I don't know if it's been mentioned elsewhere here, but I just noticed that with the game disc in on the PS3, you can go to the XMB main menu and watch several making-of clips off the video menu just like you would if you had put a blu ray disc in the tray (instead of launching video content from within the game). Pretty neat idea, actually.

Just finished this last night. I was only 65% complete and have no desire to find all the hidden riddles... that said, does anybody think or know if Eidos will come out with d/l levels or boss fights?
I love the gameplay but don't find the challenges that much fun. I'd be in for more core gameplay though.

Wayne Manor perhaps?

They're really not limited with respect to the location. You could come up with any kind of scenario that restricts the action to a specific piece (or pieces) of Gotham. And if this happens bring on the Batmobile.

In Metroid terms (and isn't everything in Metroid terms really?):
Metroid Prime was locked down to one location, but Metroid Prime: Corruption was all over the place...and you still never flew the ship. A similar model would work.

IIRC, there's another opening to the left of the entrance.

Batman: Arkham Asylum – Prey In The Darkness Pack is coming today, but it is exclusive to PS3 in NA. If you have a 360 and live in Europe you can download the content that way.

Finished this on Hard last night. Not too difficult at all. I only have the combat challenges to tackle, but I doubt I'll be able to get all the medals for the 100% complete.

PS3 owners can get a couple exclusive Arkham Asylum themes (one w/ Batman, one w/ Joker) for FREE right now. I'm not a huge fan of the backgrounds, but the icons and sound effects are cool.
