so I went in with fists flying thinking that it was a normal encounter. It wasn't until later that I found out they don't attack until you strike.

I know this point has been made already but I hope they find a better way to use Detective Mode. I mean, there was nothing wrong with it per se, but I spent 98% of the game with it "on" out of fear of missing something and I realize now I didn't really get to see the game's graphics in regular mode.

I went in there, threw around some explosive gel, walked to the end, turned around, and blasted. Was able to knock out one or two before the rest knew what was up.

Just finished all 240 Riddler Challenges. It got kind of tough towards the end; I couldn't find two Joker Teeth (one in Penitentiary and the other in Arkham Mansion). Had to turn to the internet to find 'em, as I wasn't going to spend another hour or two searching for one pair of teeth in each place.
Also had to look up how to find the last Chronicle of Arkham, as I had no idea of how I was going to find that one.

I just finished the game. What a disappointing ending to such a great game.
Sorry if this has been brought up already, but I've been avoiding spoilers.
So, I ended up with 223/240 riddles. I guess I'll go grab the remaining ones and that should wipe the Joker battle from my memory.
edit: Sorry, I thought everyone was posting the games details. That's why I wasn't reading through the thread while playing.
update: got all 240 riddles, now I just need to find the last Chronicle of Arkham.

Then maybe you might not want to spoil the end boss fight for other folks? I don't think it's a big deal, but you never know other people's spoiler tolerance, so it's better to err on the side of caution.
I do agree that the last boss encounter was a little lame. It felt very much like a 16 bit boss battle to me for some reason. I think it would have been cooler if it was more psychological -- like say the Sniper Wolf battle in Metal Gear Solid. Either have the Joker hunting you, or you hunting the Joker (with the Joker finding some way to disable your detective vision, so that you're fighting "blind"). Have the music drop out entirely, and just have the sounds and taunts from the Joker be the things you hear.

I'm only a quarter through. Anyone go to this forum right after a prolonged play session in detective mode? The blues and greys here match those that have burned into my rods & cones for the past few hours and it feels like I'm still in detective mode.
I just got past the part where you follow Dr Young's fingerprints. I suspect she must be drunk because she put her hand on just about every wall she walked past.

The level when you have to take out the armed guards with the
is probably the hardest level I've played so far. I must've died a hundred times. I finally was able to find a starwell that i just crouched behind and waited till one of the guards walked by the stairs. Pretty cool how you can use so many different strategies to take em out.

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum
Just got this along with Beatles Rock Band from BB for the b1g1 1/2off thing. Never played a rock band game before (already have the drums) so just needed the game.
Anyway, I played Batman and it's beautiful and lots of fun. I was worried that the sneakin' would be a drag but so far (I'm not that far in) it's been bearable. The combat is hot shit, too. I downloaded the Joker addon and tried that a bit, but couldn't get past the third wave of dudes. Anyway, I think I'm done for Resistance 2 for a while since this game has me pretty hooked.

I'm done with the campaign but my very first mission in Challenge mode is still locked (as are others). How do I get these babies open? Thanks--

man, i simply do not see how you are supposed to get 3 medals for the combat challenges. You have to be totally perfect in every way!
