I got pissed the the game last night. I was doing one of the later ones in the medical facility, and I did the "take three guys down using three different wall explosions" and the "flying takedown", or whatever it's called. I had one guy left, and I did the "crash through a window using the line" just perfectly, I hit him and he went out and I knocked him out after and the stage ended, but it didn't give me credit for the window takedown!!! I had tried that one over and over and OVER and finally did it and it didn't register.

:(

Did you stand on top of the window and hit the button when it showed "Takedown"? I think that's the only way it counts.

Did John Di Maggio do any of the voice work in this game? It's not listed on his IMDB page, but the "get him on the ground and stomp on his face" line that I hear over and over in the challenges sounds exactly like Bender.

Well, shit I feel stupid! When you start the round it says defeat all the enemies as quickly as possible so I just thought it was a time challenge.

I've done exactly what I did before, did it before the fly down grab before I got shot, and that time it counted when I did exactly what I did this past time and it never said "Takedown".

I think the game is messing with me now.

That's what you do to get on the leaderboards I believe.

I just found out the hard way why they tell you to never power off the machine in the middle of a save. I died in the last room of the pump house, Joker came in at the quit/retry screen and my whole room went dark. I love it when people fail to let anyone else know when they are screwing with the breaker. Power came back on a moment later, I went back in to Batman and the entire save game file was gone. All my progress, all my challenges, everything. I was pissed at first but it's a good thing I love the game, because starting over doesn't sound all that bad.

That's unfortunate. Hopefully you weren't too far in.

This game has got under my skin. I was at work last night, wanting nothing more than to come home and play more. I probably won't fire it up again, until Tuesday (for a marathon session), but this is going to be one of those games I think I will be playing multiple times (which is something I just do not do).

Could someone give me an idea of where I am. I just ran into Harley Quinn where the floor is electrified.

I just finished it today. I didn't have an issue with the last boss especially since I saw an episode of "The Batman" where the same thing happened.

I'm still trying to learn how to fight without losing rhythm in the challenges and it's not easy.

I love how one of the guys at Rocksteady said "We are thinking of doing a sequel, but we want to see if people like this one first"

Fuck yeah people like it, get to work on that damn sequel :P

I got this game yesterday and I'm loving it. I love the little touch like when Batman get into many fights in the game his costume show some wear and tear.

I laugh when the Joker spoke into the PA system.

Spoiler:
"Paging Dr. Howard, Dr. Fine, Dr. Howard."

Yeah no shit. One thing that I love is how so many are reporting that they can't stop playing it. I know I have several 3+ hours days with this game.

So how many years now have you been waiting for a decent DC game Robo?

seeing as VGchartz is claiming the game almost broke 1 million copies its first week alone, I think we are going to see a sequel VERY soon.

It also happens to be the best selling game still at amazon for the PS3, and third for the 360 (behind Halo ODST which will probably sell 3 million copies its first week, and Rock Band Beatles)...

This game could sell over 4 million copies by the end of Christmas....

Not too soon. Don't get me wrong, I want the next game tomorrow, but I want them to take their time and keep the quality high.

I'm still tripping out that a triple A Batman game exists! What world is this I'm living on?

Dammit! I'm just missing 2 Joker's Teeth from the Arkham Mansion. How can get them to spawn?

Brent L 09-06-09 09:27 AM

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

It seems like tons of people miss the teeth above the warden's office in the mansion. Have you tried looking there?

I got all but one set of teeth on my normal playthrough. The only one I missed was one just walking around in the open in medical. I didn't even realize I needed to destroy all of them, it was just my OCD while playing games that I have sometimes, like destroying almost all of the bushes and rocks in Zelda games and stuff like that.

Sorta off topic, but here I go anyway. Since Uncharted 2 is coming out soon I'm finally playing through the original Uncharted (it's AWESOME, like most of you know already). The thing is, I find myself trying to turn on Batman's detective mode and trying to scan interesting looking items, not to mention other Batman related actions.

I was missing one from the hospital. Just went room to room, listening for the laugh, until I heard it. Didn't take too long.

Spoiler:
There is an opening in the roof of the Warden's office that leads to a second floor where the missing teeth may be.

One cheap thing I figured out is that if I retreated to the airvent and backtracked, the game would save, and then I could restart if I died with however many thugs I'd taken down already out.

Once I figured that out, though, I only died once after that. I just kept waiting for one person to get close enough to the vent for me to kick him down, then I'd retreat and wait a while. I did this until I was down to three guys, and then I just went through and knocked 'em off one by one. The sonic batarang came in pretty handy there too so I could set a trap.

Now that I realize that the challenge maps are not TIME based but you have to do certain things, how do you know what you need to do?? The descriptions are vague to me. Am I missing something or is everyone just using gamefaqs? :hscratch:

:( but you're missing all the fun of being Batman. Isolating bad guys, knocking them out with explosions as they walk by, smacking one guy with a batarang, then taking out his partner, doing upside down silent takedowns, and etc.

Did anyone notice that later in the game the bad guys start
Spoiler:
dodging the batarangs?

I haven't snagged that upgrade yet. How useful are those? From reading the little blurb it just didn't seem that helpful.

Also, could someone give me an idea how close i am to the end? I don't want it to end. :(

Spoiler:
I just spoke with Ivy and she told me to go find Croc for some spores or somesuch

Also, i am missing a ton of riddles. I need to go back and find ones to unlock more Predator challenge maps. Those are the maps i like to play.

The remote control batarang is not useful in close quarters combat, but is pretty good if throwing from a distance without wanting to be seen, and also for taking out multiple guys at once. Combine it with the extended knockout upgrade, and it can be useful in the right situations.

Brent L 09-06-09 04:51 PM

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

It's also very useful to toss one around a corner to get an enemies attention so they'll go where you want. The remote control batarang is perfectly useful in the right situation, especially in the challenges.

I didn't care for the RB but you guys gave me some good ideas for using it if I play this again. I did use the RB for the "Catch a batarang" achievement.

The "Glide 100m" achievement. I'm done with this game but I've been trying to get this. I hate those travel X amount cheevos because they're a pain to get.

I used the Sonic Batarang for that; but obviously a Remote unit makes it easy to get them exactly where you want them.

As i said earlier, all the gadgets were well implemented in this game.

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

Yeah, the sonic batarang is way better for that when you have a straight shot.
