I know that Sony said it would only be a one week delay. However, Best Buy just sent me an order update saying that the game had been delayed until 11/30/2008. I'm sure sony's got it right and bb doesn't, but it still made me a bit nervous.

That is your particular copy of the game. Everyone else will get it on one date but just you... not till the end of November.

Sony insisted.

The lame part of this is that the people that brought this to Sony's attention were only asking for a little patch - not a delay/recall: http://www.true-gaming.net/home/?p=827

I have games from the 90s I haven't touched yet. When oh when will I crack open Tie Fighter Collectors edition and will it work in DOS BoX or was that a windows game. Oh well.

So i keep hearing that some stores are still going to have the game out on Tuesday regardless of what Sony says. Does anyone know which stores will most likely have copies?

I try not to get too excited about reviewers falling over themselves with praise -- I find those extatic reviews tend to overrate the game (cough, GTA IV, MGS4, cough) but I just love this wrap up quote from a Australian site called Gameplayer

LittleBigPlanet is like a magic trick, and in that respect it feels less like a videogame than an incredible concept executed perfectly. LittleBigPlanet is like LEGO (the blocks, not the game), it’s like Monopoly, it’s timeless... it’s lightning in a bottle – and if Sony play their cards right it could well save the PS3, and propel the console into the stratosphere.
If someone here wants to know why I'm so excited about this game, well that's the reason.

Anyone have an idea if the new copies have different UPCs?

I've heard Blockbuster Game Rush locations may have them on shelves.

I scanned ours at Wal-Mart to see if they've been recalled or pushed back because I'm still not sure if I'm supposed to put them out tonight or not. But it does scan for purchase (meaning I could have bought one last night) instead of being denied the sale (either for recall or street dated).

So unless I walk in tonight with a notice from corperate to hold them back, I'm going to put them out. So I'd check your local Wal-Mart if you want one.

Awesome. What time are you supposed to put them out? I know most walmarts are 24 hrs so is it around 7 am or something?

I heard this too and stopped by the one by my office on my lunch break today. They had four copies in, but said they couldn't sell any until tomorrow. I'm hoping they miss whatever memo's are sent out in the next 24 hours. Anyway, if you've got a Blockbuster nearby, it might be worth stopping by and seeing if you get a cool clerk that'll sell you one.

We've had our copies for a few days now, and I put them out right at midnight. But it varies from store to store due to employee incompetence (and stubbornness). I think the smaller stores (at least some) shut down electronics until 7 am, but the supercenters keep it open 24-7 (I work in a supercenter). So you may have better luck at a supercenter.

I just talked to one of the clerks at my local Gamestop. He had no idea about a recall, and the store had tons of advertising for the release of the game tomorrow. So Gamestops may have them as well.

Looks like (unofficial) word from Sony is that if stores have already received them, they don't have to return them, and can go ahead and sell them. Stores that haven't received them (along with future shipments) will have to wait for the new pressings.

I think the recall is a bigger deal in Europe than it is in the US.

It doesn't matter, this will be addressed via a patch. I assume PSN enforces patches to play online like the 360 does?

The only way this has any real value is for someone to play offline. Or if you get some suckers to buy into the hype and turn a profit on eBay. More power to you and I say go for it.

Yikes. I bought mine from eBay on Friday just after the recall was announced, and they were going for about $60 or so at that point. I got mine for a bit less than MSRP, so I guess I jumped on it just in time.

Well that sounds promising. Unfortunately my order at cc.com still just says 'pre-order' and 'pending.'

It's a platform game like 2d Super Mario, but it has a bit of 3d to it, in that there are 3 planes you can travel between, foreground, middle, and background. It can be played online or off, but apparently there are some puzzles where you need more than one "sac-boy" to solve it - which means co-op online play.

The big kicker however, is that there is a built in editor and you can design in great detail your own levels. Once done you can share them with the online community. It looks to be pretty amazing.
