Amazon has the $10 GC, but the level creator guide sounds lame.

Sticker book?
Circuit City is giving a $10 gift card as well which is where I'll end up going. They are doing some stickers or something equally lame. I already did the pre-order/cancel to get the Nariko & Kratos codes.

I'd agree. In this situation, it's pretty time sensitive.

You can do that? I'd have thought they give you the code when you pick the game up.

Nope. They are cards available at Game Stop and in presale PS3 boxes at Best Buy. I've got both.

I imagine these items can be easily shared once they're available in-game. I've received numerous items from other players in their levels and can't imagine that the items wouldn't be just as easy to distribute.

Speaking of which ...are these items going to carry over when we get the full version of the game?

This is something I've been wondering too. Does anyone know if the Beta info will be carried over?

The tutorials are cute. But there's tons of them, they're required to progress further, and they take a while to get through. It would suck if you have to repeat all the tutorials in the full game.

So how long does the beta last?

I installed it earlier and ran around the menu. Haven't gotten much further yet.

Bad news, it looks like nothing gets carried over.
This is from a LBP blog:

LittleBigPlanet’s Beta Levels Are Doomed
September26

So, are you happy with your Beta version of LittleBigPlanet? Have you created some levels yet? If you’re one of the 1000 people that did, I have bad news for you (and me).

I interviewed Leo Cubbin, one of LBP’s producers, today. I asked him what will happen to all the user created content when we replace the Beta version with the full game. The answer was what I feared: everything is lost!

I don’t know about you guys, but I treasure my levels and I don’t want to just lose them like that, so I tried to argue that they should allow us to move the content into the full game. Leo replied that maybe they’ll convert the best levels, but they can’t convert everything.

It looks like noone expected such a big response to the Beta version. So far, 10.000 people have logged in, and 1000 published their own levels. I guess a lot more are still working hard on those levels before they hit the publish button. And all that content will be lost soon…

GTA was good, but I didn't like The Heist. That level brought out all my worst controller problems.

World Of Color is excellent. Probably my favorite so far. Also liked the Ninja Warrior level. That was fun.

Hopefully they'll find a way to keep some of these good levels. It would be a shame to lose them all.

Haven't tried World of Color; will check that one out now. Ninja Warrior was really well done, but HARD. Did you finish in time? That seemed like an impossible goal for me. Loved that giant spool-on-a-ramp part, though.

Some people are so creative. That's what makes the game so enjoyable. The possibilities are endless. Someone here said this game reminded them of something Nintendo would publish, but I totally disagree. It would be amazing to build your own Mario levels, but that's a degree of control they would never give the public. We'll just have to wait until someone gives us a red cap and blue overalls for our sackboys.

If the outfits are sharable in-game, maybe you could hook me up?

That stinks ... definitely lessons my desire to spend a lot of time making a level in the beta.

Same here ... I just played through the three available levels to try to get the "Aced" bonuses. I haven't fired up the PS3 yet today.

There's a level on page 3 of Cool Worlds called "Unexpected". Everyone should check it out. It's just absolutely brilliant.

Alright, I must be a fucking retard. I can't get out of the starting developers/credits level. I've run through it 4 times now, What the hell am I supposed to do? I get to the end where there is a hole with a sackboy and sign above him that says introducing and to the right the LBP logo. I can't seem to do anything other than open my poppit.

HELP!

Keep walking right.

The "introducing" part is not the end of the level. It's just introducing sackboy after introducing all the behind the scenes people.

Hate to tell you Corvin, but some of the levels are even harder than that credits screen!

I did. I learn the facial/arm moves and the curtain reveals the LBP logo. I walk past the logo and he just walks off screen and it gives me the 5 second countdown timer. Once times up it spawns me below the logo. I can't go or do anything.

Try jumping into the screen/logo? I think it was something like that.

Trust me, I've jumped all over the place. It has to be a glitch or something. I wonder if I can go into my d/l history and re-download it.

I've come across a few glitches myself, this being an earlier version of the beta and all, but I didn't come across that one. Before you go about deleting and redownloading, try deleting your save data and starting over. Or use another user ID and see what you can do.

I've got another extra code. Keys88, have you already received one? Or who's next on the list?

If need be, just re-download. You should be able to do that up to five times.
