I have that, but never thought to use Teddy Bears as ammo. Collecting all that stuff for ammo gets too heavy.
I now have all the add-ons installed. Am I supposed to finish the main game first before I play any add-ons or does it not matter?

You can't really play Brotherhood of Steel until you finish the game, but you could drop in the other ones at any time. The swamp one was my favorite by far FWIW...almost big enough to be a sequel.

In terms of length, I'm pretty sure the Pitt is the second longest DLC only behind Point Lookout. It's also my second favorite in terms of story/narrative, and it had probably the second hardest decision in the game only behind choosing whether or not to blow up
Spoiler:
I recommend it without hesitation.

I disagree. It was just one base. The only really interesting thing about BoS IMO was the addition of new enemies in the game proper.
Zeta and Anchorage weren't very good at all IMO. Anchorage was super linear and completely inconsequential to the main game, and Zeta just wasn't very interesting.

I loved every bit of of Fallout 3 and all the DLC, although I had a ton of crashes playing Anchorage. That was really frustrating.
Either way Fallout 3 is one of the best games I've ever played, and I can't wait for Fallout New Vegas this fall.

I think the key to using it is to only carry a few objects to use as ammo and pick them back up after firing, assuming you can find them again

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears
Just curious. I have Fallout 3:GOTY edition for the PS3. I am currently 18th level
Now here is my question. Their are still lots of side quests and places I have not visited. Can I delay going on that mission and go explore and do other missions? Or is it time sensitive?
Thanks!

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears
Is anyone playing on the PC and had disc issues?
I bought the regular version (not GOTY) for the PC over a year and a half ago, installed, and played for a short time. The game has been sitting on the shelf since then, untouched, for over a year now. I decide to play it again, put the disc in my drive (same computer, same drive) and it is not even recognized by the drive. It just keeps spinning, and that's it. I don't see how it could have been damaged.... I mean this thing was literally untouched for a year, in the DVD case, without a speck of dust or fingerprint getting in.
Since this was already installed on my hard drive from the retail DVD, I just realized that I can start the game fine from the hard drive and play it from there (without it trying to access the DVD). I've been doing this for a few minutes now. It is strange though because even though I've installed in on my computer, don't I still need a functioning DVD to play this?
My questions at this point are:
1) Does anyone know if I can still just continue to play this on my computer without a functioning DVD (don't want to find out I need the DVD again 10-20 hours further into the game)
2) Is there a known issue with this DVD malfunctioning? Like DVD rot or bad batch or something, and any ideas on how to rectify it?
Thanks.... just frustrating I bought it for $50 and the DVD seems dead.
I know this question might get buried in this mega thread, but I'll give it a try.

Not able to answer your question but this game is on sale most of the time on Steam and other similar sites. So in case you really like the game you should be able to download it from any of those sites. You should be able to find it for under $30.

Started to play it more last night.... still seems to work without it trying to access the DVD. Fingers crossed it doesn't crap out on me 30 hours in.

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears
are the RPG elements as easy to get into as in Borderlands? or is it more complicated and difficult to understand for someone not versed in the universe? and it is a combo of RPG and FPS, right?

Re: The Fallout 3 Thread Of Exploding Teddy Bears
Fallout 3 is not as easy to get into or pick up and play as Borderlands. It holds your hand at the start, but once you get outside, you can be a little overwhelmed by what you need to do. That being said, it is not hard at all to get going, I am just comparing it to a game like Borderlands that is real easy to understand what you need to do. If you are comparing the shooting elements, you may be disappointed in Fallout 3, because as a pure shooter, it is not as good as Borderlands. The shooting elements are all based in RPG stats, and not on pure hand eye skill, though that still plays a role.

^ very well put. I'll add that it's really not complicated, per se, but definitely not designed to work as a straight-up FPS.

All this talk has me wanting to download one of the expansions I haven't played so I can get back into the wasteland.
