So Amazon is enticing me w/ their 20 credit. Guess I'm getting Noire. Any visual differences in the 360 or PS3 versions? I'm thinking the PS3 version looks a wee better cuz it was originally made w/ the intention of being an exclusive....but who knows? You guys seen any visual differences in terms of graphics?

As someone already said, after you get promoted you can go back into a free roam type game mode to collect stuff, find cars and do street crimes....everything you do carries over to your main game, so you level up and unlock cars..ect...and you don't have to worry about breaking stuff, or messing up a case...I was only able to do 14 of 40 though and it said all of them on this desk are done...so I guess after I get promoted again, another free roam will open up on another desk...all of this is easy to access and very user friendly....
The Street crimes are fun, but SHORT...it took me 25 minutes to do all 14 that were available.....also if you are looking for some shooting...plenty of it here..
Fantastic game....wish there was a difficulty setting...combat is FAR to easy...

Doubt = I know you're lying, but I can't prove it with the evidence in my notebook.

I want to see a Phoenix Wright game using this engine. Instead of "Truth" / "Doubt" / "Lie" you'd have "Objection!" / "Hold It!" / "Take That!"

I played the game last night in my Xbox Arcade, reading from the DVD, and it seemed really slow loading, at least compared to reading from the hard drive. Other than that no issues.

I know it was live motion like a video and you would go to a crime scene after the cops were done and get clues. Then you would have a list of ppl to interview and get supporting material for your court case. The when you felt you had enough you would go to court and present your case. And then the jury would make their choice and so on.

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.
Sony and Rockstar put out a joint saying it's neither of us, but it's something: http://www.destructoid.com/rockstar-...t-201528.phtml
Rockstar and Sony have issues a joint statement regarding the issue of L.A. Noire and overheating PS3 systems. Yesteday, Rockstar blamed PS3 Firmware 3.61. Today, Sony blamed L.A. Noire. Now? both companies have said it's neither Firmware 3.61 OR L.A. Noire.
"We have received a very small number of customer support questions about PS3’s overheating or shutting down while playing L.A. Noire," said the companies. "At this time, Rockstar Games and Sony can confirm that neither L.A. Noire or firmware update 3.61 are causing the PS3 hardware to overheat. We are both committed to working hard to find solutions to this and any issues that may arise."
Links have been provided for both Rockstar support and Sony support. Nothing further was said over Sony's claim that "other systems" had also overheated (which was basically a statement that Xbox 360s were suffering problems too).
New games often bring with them coincidental stories of overheating consoles, but this one certainly seems to be a little more serious than that. Hopefully none of you guys have had to deal with it!

One of my few gripes with the game is one that applies to the Phoenix Wright games as well. Sometimes, you know someone is lying, and you have two or more pieces of evidence that seem applicable, but only one is arbitrarily right. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it's kind of annoying.

How is that a spoiler? No different than a movie, since many of these people who are in the game have already been announced. I'd just forgotten he was in this.
Here's an article from a prominent game mag talking about familiar faces in the game: http://www.gamepro.com/article/featu...-noire-2-of-2/

A lot of these actors look familiar but I don't know there names.
Starting like it even more I almost lost it though and the end of the first disc
But was relieved at the first case on the start of disc 2.
I think it's funny when you're running around with your partner getting into different vehicles.....I hopped in a giant truck with barrels and the first thing he says is "You gotta be shitting me....we're gonna drive in that piece of shit!!"

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.
Some of us do know the names of actors. Some are more recognizable than others. Some are meant to make entrances (like the above). Some of us also intentionally avoided trailers, articles, and discussions. It just sucks to walk into a thread when someone else decides it's no big deal.
FWIW, I did that case last night so I was surprised. If I put it off until tonight, I would have been at least annoyed with you, if not out-right pissed.
Guess I just need to keep ahead of the curve of others since I also haven't looked at the cast list in the manual and that may be transcribed openly next.

Re: LA Noire - The Thread.
Fair enough. But you have to recognize that this is unprecedented for the video game world. Remember when we used to talk about the statute of limitations on having to mark things as spoilers? Casting may not be a spoiler for everyone but since it's so new it's sort of a common rule here, in VG Talk, that we still spoiler plot-related talk for at least a while for everyone.
You have to admit that his entrance was meant to be a reveal.
Per your request, I will stay the fuck out until I'm done so you don't feel obligated to push that tedious spoiler button. You're welcome.
