For your listening pleasure, I created a setlist on Project Playlist.com of the [rumored] songs in GH:WT:

I like the version of The Spirit of Radio you have on there. ;)

Thanks for the setlist.

I haven't had time to go through and check them all so there may be some errors in there. :) |
This is a great list. The one thing that is weird to me:
Spoiler:
That said, even if this isn't legit, it probably won't be too far off with the major artists, since the survey from a while back has been spot on so far. |

Maybe it's just me and my taste since i'm not that hardcore about music, but if that list is real it looks like Guitar Hero has a list of more mainstream and recognizable acts to the modern audience with a mix of big well known names in history where Rock Band 2 seems to be a broader range of acts.

Man, I can't wait to play Pull Me Under. |

The iconic legacy of late singer/guitarist Jimi Hendrix continues in the upcoming Guitar Hero® World Tour video game from Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVID). One of the most creative and influential musicians of the 20th century, Hendrix will be featured in the game as a playable character, along with two of his most recognizable master tracks, "Purple Haze (Live)" recorded in 1969 at the San Diego Sports Arena and "The Wind Cries Mary." Additional exclusive songs from the legendary artist will follow as downloadable content. "Guitar Hero games have become the virtual rock stage for the industry's most beloved artists and Guitar Hero World Tour continues that tradition by honouring the great Jimi Hendrix and celebrating some of his greatest work," said Tim Riley, Vice President of Music Affairs for Activision Blizzard. "His presence in the game will serve to satisfy multiple generations of his fans and Guitar Hero devotees, as well as create new fans by reintroducing his genre-defining guitar style through the unique Guitar Hero experience." Guitar Hero World Tour is being developed by Neversoft Entertainment for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system. The Wii™ version is being developed by Vicarious Visions. The PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system version is being developed by Budcat. The game is not yet rated by the OFLC. A list of songs has been floating around online today, purportedly comprising the Guitar Hero: World Tour setlist. With songs from bands like Tool, Pink Floyd and Thin Lizzy, it looks like a music-game lover's dream. Well, the folks at Activision and Red Octane are pinching us all awake with the announcement that it's a fake. We spoke with a representative who confirmed that, while some of those songs are indeed in the game (Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher," for one), the bulk of it is wishful thinking and pure speculation. And we were so looking forward to the boss battle with bassist Sting, too. Drat. |
D'oh!
|
We had to know this was coming.
|
"Wishful thinking and pure speculation" does not mean that it isn't real. It just means they haven't announced what they haven't announced.
That first RB2 list was real enough... |
Exactly. The Hendrix tracks just turned out to be true, so who knows. They wouldn't have this problem if they just laid their cards on the table at E3.
|
It definitely could still be real. It is hard to get a read since the Game Informer snippet doesn't have any direct quotes. I tend to think that it is real. It doesn't seem like your standard fake list.
Would anyone really put three Untitled Drum Samples in a fake list? Was the tour format ever mentioned officially anywhere before it was mentioned in this list? |

Man I hate Tool and being forced to play 3 of the worst songs in the world in a row would blow. But Blink and +44 has me interested. I'm glad my RB drums work so I can buy this game too :)

Although... Spoiler:

I can't wait for "Beat it" :) that I can't stand it. That guitar solo is something I have wanted to play since the first time I played a GH game, and Michael is well..... Michael.
