To get online and get DLC, etc., there is no cost. Costs are only for playing online against others, etc.

Is the Wii version even going to have online play?

Ahhh yes... I forgot about that one. A definite purchase, so that does need to factor into any argument.

*edit - sad to think that this is the most action the GH thread has had in weeks.

I'm just saying if there was a time to move away from the Wii, the time is now (or on 10/19 or 10/26).

Selling the Wii stuff is a great idea, but if you're going to do it, do it soon.

I hear ya.

The other factor is the wife/kids are not going to give up the Wii.

So it would be a completely out of pocket expense just to cater to my addiction to these games.

Michael Corvin 09-17-08 01:26 PM

You don't have to give up the Wii, just Rock Band.

Addictions are good...

The only thing that I have seen that will be gimped is the music creator.

Other than that the DLC issue is fixed, and online play should be the same.

pinata242 09-17-08 01:30 PM

Yeah, no one said get rid of the Wii, just the peripherals and music games.

Come over to the dark side. We'll take mighty fine care of you.

Not at all. XBOX online costs, even at $3 a month, blows everything away.

As an owner of all 3 systems at one point, there is not even a shaky argument that can be made against XBOX Live. Wii and PS3 are just on a different planet.

I agree, if you use online stuff a lot. $50 a year was a big turn off for me, because I rarely play online, so it wasn't worth it for me. I wouldn't want to pay $50 year to play lego starwars with my friend once every 3 months. But I also wouldn't want to be completely w/o it. That's one reason why ps3 was more attractive to me...

You can buy as little as a month's worth of access.
