 Looks like Activision is getting off their high horse. Rock Band instruments will be compatible with GH:WT! They can't speak for RB2 instruments though, for obvious reasons.

While I know that Microsoft's policies are really driving this, and PS3 cross-compatibility will be true measure of how serious Activision wants to be with this, I'm impressed by one thing:
Here's how it'll work. Speaking with Bright after the conference, I found out that the game's five-button drum track, shown above center, will be compressed down to four inputs if a Rock Band drum controller is inserted. They are making sure that it actually plays accurately and not just some quick patchwork compatibility. This has saved me considerable cash, although I'll still end up spending on the new RB kit at some point. |
Wow. That's cool as shit. I wasn't planning on buying a second set of drums so this is a nice bonus.
I imagine this 'patchwork' won't be for scorehounds though. I assume you would need all 5 notes to max out your scores. |

My RB guitar works with GH:Aerosmith. I still use my wireless LP though.

Have they ever officially released a full setlist for any GH version before the release date?

Release is in roughly 3 months so we're not that far off. Seems silly to skip an event tailor made for it.

That having been said, we only were revealved a full setlist to GH: Aerosmith a few short weeks (or was it something closer to a week) before the actual release of the game. While I realize that GH: World Tour is an event that far and away eclipses the magnitude of Aerosmith, my point is that they do not have a proven track record for proper admission of setlists. |
It's also entirely possible they haven't finalized the setlist yet. I'm sure they're constantly working with artists/labels for exclusivity agreements and promises.
I have no doubt they've produced Zep and Beatles tracks and are actively showing it off, even without full masters yet. As a fallback, you know they have the 85 they would go to print with today should that be the case. |

Doesn't mean they aren't still courting them - or haven't already tried. "C'mon, Mr. Plant. Look at this fucking 12-song Who pack they just put out. You don't want to be upstaged by those Fancy Lads, do ya? Here are some early download numbers. SHIT! Gold mine!" |

I have read. I just don't think either one of them is taking "no" for an answer. That's also why I had them going after Plant ;)
But I don't think that dilutes my point about them still working on longshots. |

The music studio is neat. But not everyone knows how to make music much less good music so Im not sure how this will work out long term. Initially there will be all sorts of goofy stuff uploaded. Im afraid that people will get bored with this quickly and not even mess with it.
What will be neat is to see what real artists can do with the studio. If real artists would even be interested. |

You'll find there aren't many replies for us PS3 GH and RB folk in here. :) |
