I think the calendar is actually cooler than the hat, can Platinum Members pick the Gold prize? I guess I will choose the Punch-Out "game".

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

I'm probably going with the hat. It will look nice next to the little red Pikmin I won a few years ago from them. Someone I know will get the download so I'll get to play it eventually.

Yes. You can choose this if you are platinum. These prizes are identical to what Japan got for 2009 except for the game download. They got a gold Wii Wheel as the other choice. I was really hoping for the SNES controller, but no luck.

I tried but it wouldn't let me, so I just did the Punch Out thingy instead.

Guess I misread it. Thought you could choose from the three.

Wii done lit up... Anybody know what that's about yet? I'm too busy playing Monkey Island to switch over.

Blue Vajayjay wants you to update to Wii Menu 4.1. Changes are back-end only.

Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX

Pass this on...

Using the code DVDTALK at DeepDiscountDVD reduces the price of the Wii 25%... from $247.98 to $185.99 (a savings of $61.99).

Cool.

Edit to add: It works on the 80G PS3 as well (from $399.99 to $299.99... a savings of $100.00).

I finally got lucky at Wal-Mart. Quite possibly more than a year after people reported it on CAG, my Wal-Mart finally put the Classic Controller skin + 2000 Wii Points on clearance for $10 each.

Nabbed 4 of the 7 there. I couldn't see the card in two of them and the third looked open. Didn't want to take a chance on that one.

I found one last week... but it was just the card in its bubble pack.

God dammit. My Walmart doesn't (and has never) even sold those. Argh.

The sad thing for those of us with DLC on the Wii is there is no rebuying of the Wii without rebuying all of that content. So no matter how good it looks in black I can't buy a new one even if I wanted to.

I almost wish that they would let you tie registering you Wii with your Club Nintendo Account and allow you to share the DLC.

But that would be too nice.

I only got to Gold status so I had to take the calendar. I'd much rather have the hat.

Saw another one at Walmart today. Nabbed it.

They must put them out one at a time.

What should I get in the Wii Shop this time?

If you like Tangram puzzles (or puzzles in general) Neves is great. Lots of puzzles for 600 points and it is one of my favorite WiiWare games. I lost interest in ArtStyle Orbient kind of quickly though it is cool for awhile. You probably already have the really good stuff like World of Goo.

It looks like Tales of Monkey Island has a lot of performance issues on WiiWare and is pretty short or I would recommend that one. The PC game is great.

With the cards I bought from you and the 65 pepsi caps I cashed in I am sitting on a ton of Wii/DSi Points and I'm having a hard time finding stuff I want.

Actually I haven't gotten World of Goo yet... maybe I'll get that tomorrow.

Did you ever get FFIV After Years ?

Yes, but I really didn't get into it. It looks very cool with the SNES graphics, but the story just didn't grab me. Not sure if I will buy the other chapters.

If you don't have World of Goo I really can't recommend it enough. Terrific puzzle game and it works great on the Wii.
