Re: Official Wii thread -Part IX
Quick question.
I don't plan on d/l too many WiiWare/Vitrual Console games, but definitely some. I had a 4GB SD card laying around that I put in. Will that be enough for game saves, etc.?

Definitely. The Wiiware games and save files are pretty small. I only have a 2GB one and it still has a ton of room.

SD card is optional. There is plenty of internal memory for save games and a few download games (although some WiiWare games can get large)

Since we moved into our house 8 years ago, my wife has not let me have a TV in the main living room, so the Wii has been in our room for the last few years.
Now that we have the 46" LCD on the wall in the living room now, we have moved it in there and it has been getting a lot more use.
Looking forward to Christmas when we can finally open Wii Sports Resort and NSMBWii!

Looking at Best Buy's site, it looks like Nyko and MadCatz make WiiMotes that are $30, compared to Nintendo's which are $40. I personally would stick with Nintendo made controllers because I've been burned by third party controllers in the past on previous systems.

I was excited when I heard that the Super Star Wars games were hitting the virtual console, and I just found out tonight that Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures has been added! I'm sure this information isn't new, even though it didn't show up when I searched this thread or looked through the Video Games forum. I am definitely going to get some Wii points and re-live some Christmases from the years before George Lucas saw fit to tamper with entertainment perfection.

Yuck...

The name is descriptive—the Big Oversized Super Shell. The idea is likewise simple: you simply slide your existing Wiimote into the back of the shell, held in place with rubber nubs, and then you can play games like New Super Mario Bros. Wii just as you would on the Super Nintendo.
The controller is only $9.99, much less than a classic controller, but of course the shell is only a piece of plastic. The ultimate test is how well it feels in your hand, and if it makes any difference in how you play the game. The verdict? The bulk is less than optimal.
The Wiimote sticks out of the back of the shell, and the plastic is much thicker than what you're used to from the real Super Nintendo controllers. The buttons aren't as responsive as we would like, since you're just pressing down on the Wiimote buttons through the shell's own buttons. This looks like a toy for your children, but unless you have some seriously oversized hands, you're going to be cramping very quickly.
After playing with the B.O.S.S. for an hour or so I removed it and breathed a sigh of relief. The inability to play New Super Mario Bros. Wii with the classic controller is lame, sure, but is it enough of a problem that you should buy the game its own third-party accessory? No, especially when the solution is so bulky. At $10 you're not out much if you buy it and don't like it, but you're better off just getting used to the Wiimote.

I can't believe that there is a Coldstone Creamery game for the Wii?

My buddy grabbed me Metroid Prime Trilogy from Best Buy for $20 yesterday and brought it to me at work today.
Looking forward to play this since I've never really played a Metroid game before....

I downloaded Super Metroid one night back in October out of boredom. I think I stayed up until 3am playing it. Of course, I got my fix and haven't felt the urge to go back and finish it. I did own originally though.

Then for the love of god, download and play Super Metroid too - it's not hyperbole to say that it is quite possibly the greatest 2D action/platformer of all time.
