Wii Music looks terrible, but I guess would be fun for families.
I was hoping they would at least show a couple of traditional 1st party games besides the non stop causal stuff.
The only upside to this is Sony has nothing to follow. They could show God of War 3 and leave the stage and kill this press conference.

You have to come and excite the consumer, the core gamers.
Maybe we've all finally diverged from Nintendo's "core audience".

Wow, I think I just watched Nintendo reps verbally masturbate on stage over NPD numbers and marketing figures for an hour. The announcements were lackluster to say the least. Regardless, they will sell tons of Animal Crossing, Wii Sports and Wii Music copies.
I got all excited when Rockstar sent me an email about GTA: Chinatown Wars the moment it was announced, but it was only the logo.

I just got back from lunch. Shit. Barely a dozen responses, half of which are complaining about the chick on stage. That must be failure of epic proportions. And no first party games?*

The conference was a win if you look at Nintendo as a company for families, soccer moms, kids and non gamers in general. I agree the masses will eat up stuff like Wii Music and Wii Sports Resort. They have just dumbed things down to the point that I feel I am completely out of touch with what they are doing. My Wii spends most of its time collecting dust and nothing here will change it.
No biggie I guess and hopefully they will announce a game or two I will want, but Animal Crossing is getting a pass from me. Looks like they just copied the GameCube and DS versions exactly and added a few lame features like voice chat where everyone can monitor you. My favorite thing about the Cube version was the 8bit games, but I doubt we see those again when they can charge you $5 for them on VC if they even bother to release any you would want.
The DS has the most upside and I'm sure third parties will keep bring great stuff for it, but I am losing most of my interest in the Wii. The third parties continue to deliver shit and now even Nintendo has lost interest in promoting games for traditional gamers.

I assume the jet ski game someone mentioned was not WaveRace?

It looks like he again teased the 'game for veteran gamers'
But then announced no game.
What a F**k.
9:29 -- There are millions of veteran gamers hungry for what's next, he says. At Nintendo, they want to fill both of those needs
What a F**k.
