I am usually too cheap to purchase games at full price, but the demo was a lot of fun ... and I have about $40 left on a Blockbuster GC from the DVD trade-in deal 4 years ago that are about to expire next week.
I preordered it from Blockbuster over the weekend for $5 to keep the gift card active.

I played through the demo again and it reminds me a lot of Stranglehold. You get to be a badass right from the beginning gaining some minor skill upgrades as you go. Not to mention lots of shit to toss/blow up at enemies. Instead of slo-mo sequences we get quicktime events.

I played the demo again the other day and was much more impressed than I had been previously. I'll surely get this once I'm finished with Mercenaries.
And, if the reviews are positive enough, there's a chance that I could pick this up for the PSP as well as one of the consoles. The PSP version has a feature that allows you to go back and play through some of the original trilogy moments with your force powers "unleashed."
I'm not sure what all of the scenarios are, but one of them is the duel at the end of ESB where you're playing as Darth Vader. It looked pretty damn cool.

The PS3/XB360 reviews in the latest issue of EGM: C / C / B-.
It seemed to echo my own feelings after playing the demo: cool idea, but clunky controls and a general feeling of "is this it?"

In fact, a better name for the game would've been Star Wars: The Force Mildly Contained

GSC member George Harrison: This isn't a question, it’s a thank you for giving the PSP version exclusive content. We usually just get a port with missing content when it comes to third-party developers. So yeah, thanks.
HB: No problem! We tried to build every version of The Force Unleashed from the “ground up” for each platform, so each version should offer something unique—whether that’s unique content (like the Jedi Temple on the PS2, Wii, and PSP), new modes (Historical Missions on the PSP, which allow you to replay some of the greatest Star Wars fights, but with Unleashed-style Force powers), or new controls (being able to use the Wii remote as a lightsaber!).

It looks like there is an article in the CC gamer newsletter:

Last I checked the PSP can't offer up dual analog sticks, 720/1080 support, achievements or Live functionality... so yeah, the 360 version doesn't get dick! Also looks like PS3 was left out in the cold barren Hoth wastelands.

Which to get PSP or PS2??
I don't have the X 360 or PS3, so which will be better PSP or PS2??
I'm leaning towards the PSP but Madden 08 and Dungeon Maker usually take up my time there.

Mod Note: Fincher Fan, I know you're upset about Rock Band not coming out in Australia, but your post in the Rock Band thread is sufficient. Do not post to several other threads disparaging Harmonix/Rock Band, as it is off topic and unnecessary.

I cancelled my pre-order but put in #1 in my Gamefly queue. $60 is just too much for me. I can accept $60 for something like Fallout 3. But as much as I loved the demo. The reviews have swayed me. If a deal comes along or an Amazon GC I'll pick it up.

That $20 gift card is tempting, but after the reviews I may have to wait it out as well. It could end up being a Lost or Condemned situation where the price drops inside a month. It sucks that Lucasarts is in such dire straights that the company's future rests on this game, but given the reviews, I think it's best to wait.
