Yeah, I figured that the article meant Sony was going to make the peripheral or something... which would be odd.

I finally got around to popping in Portal last night. What a giant cock-tease of a game. The first 17 levels were cake (har har) leaving level 18 which was very challenging and 19 which was easy, albeit long.

It ended right when it felt like things were just getting started. It was a good ride though. There were some good laughs which is hard to pull off in a game and there was cake. Or was there? The final song was cute but, as expected, it had zero chance of living up to the hype it has had at this point.

I also finished Spiderman: Friend or Foe yesterday. That's a fun little game. I actually played alongside my 3 year old daughter. She was actually figuring out the controls and knocking out the bad guys. It's a great co-op experience with a younger one.

Anyways, this discussion is better suited in the HD Forum instead of the VG Forum.
Not really. If Microsoft were to include BluRay into their next XBox 360, then it could be an important factor for someone trying to decide between the 360 & the PS3. Because right now the 360 has a BIG lead on Live and games, but it lacks in the HD department. This decision could swing a lot of people over to the 360 side.

Right, but exactly as you stated, this is about the HD side and not the games side.

Unless they switch their games to Blu-ray Discs, HD talk should mostly be in the HD Forum, just as it is now for the PS3.

There are already a few threads over there discussing this.

Hey, have you guys heard that the 360 can generate some heat?

Check this out, I've got my 360 in my entertainment center with a drawer just above it. When the 360 is on, the items in this drawer (wiimotes, other controllers, etc) can get quite warm.

The other night my wife needed to thaw some PB&J Uncrustables for the kiddos and she put them in this hot box for a few minutes to do the job since it was already playing her iPod. I thought it was hilariously ingenious and had to share.

I seriously hope you are kidding. With that set-up you are just begging for a RROD.

I would get that to an open-air space asap.

There's nowhere else to put it. RROD is all but inevitable anyway. I don't play it that often.

Thanks for the concern, though.

I have the 360 HD DVD drive on top of my 360 and I've always been nervous about it.

Just a head's up regarding a couple of titles I saw on clearance at Target this weekend. Certainly YMMV, but worth a shot. Bee Movie, Blue Dragon, and a Fast and Furious-style driving game (the name escapes me) were red-stickered at $12.98 each. Picked up Bee as an Easter gift for my son and almost bit on BD.

thats where microsoft recommends to put the hd drive, on top or on the side.. i have had mine on top with no problems at all...if you look closely.. the vent holes of your 360 are on either side of the external drive, so it isnt causing anymore heat than your xbox is already outputing i have had my xbox since 2-3 weeks after launch, and it has ran like a champ! it doesnt get hot or never freezes even after 6+ hours of run time. It doesnt even really get warm..I dont know what all this talk abut hot is...the only thing I heard that got hot was the actual power brick, but that was only on the launch models...

For anyone who doesn't have it yet, Call of Duty 4 is on sale at Toys R Us (unadvertised, in-store only) for $39. Assassin's Creed is also on sale there for $39.

Too bad I bought Blue Dragon already a couple weeks ago. Stranglehold might be amusing for that price though.

Must be regional. Went by several yesterday, the lowest for the 360 was
Bee Movie at $25 - 30%. The PS3 titles were all $24 and change. I'm near Boston.

Well, it's always YMMV but the overwhelming majority on CAG are finding them between $12.48 and $14.98. So it is worth a shot.

I found all the above at those prices except for Ninja Gaiden which was $29.98 and Blue Dragon which I didn't see at all.

Does anyone have a list of Xbox 360 exclusive games that are coming out in 08? My work firewall blocks all gaming sites for me.

I saw Blue Dragon at the Target on Westport in St. Matthews for $12.48. I left it because I don't have an interest in that game.

Me neither. I do recall seeing that one there, but it was priced in the mid $20s.

Supposedly, these are the 2008 Titles that are console-exclusive to the 360 (not including if they're available on PC), though it includes a few from late 2007:

• Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures
• Alan Wake *
• Alive
• All Points Bulletin
• Banjo-Kazooie 3 *
• Castle Wolfenstein
• Chrome 2
• Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath
• Cry On
• Croteam Project [untitled]
• Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
• Dead Island
• Dead or Alive Code: Cronus
• Destineer Spy Project [untitled]
• Dawn of Fantasy
• Fable 2 *
• Far East of Eden Ziria
• GTR
• Halo Wars *
• Huxley *
• Infinite Undiscovery
• Lost Odyssey
• Left 4 Dead
• Marvel MMO
• Ninja Gaiden 2
• Postal III
• Precursors
• Splinter Cell: Conviction
• Strike Force Red Cell
• Sacred 2: Fallen Angel
• The Secret World
• Total Overdose 2
• Theseis
• The Shadow of Aten
• Too Human *
• Universe At War: Earth Assault
• Voodoo Nights
• Warhound
• Warhammer: Battle March
• World in Conflict

Gears 2 isn't on that list. Maybe it's too old.
