From the article:

"But they say by creating an imitation so much like the Romantics' original, the California-based company infringed on the group's rights to its own likeness."

So, they are sueing because they think the cover of their song is too good?

Mordred, my highest expert TTFAF was 346k. I still don't know why my scores from the last couple days I was playing didn't update, but it looks like only my expert scores weren't updating since when I played TTFAF on medium (during those same play sessions) was uploaded. Heck, I even still have the new "One" high score on my "recent performances" list from a while back, but it didn't update in either the live leaderboards or on the GH group site.

I tried this on PC and I was having fun until I hit tier 8. Unfortunately the reviews of the PC version are correct. This game suffers from slowdown which makes it almost impossible to play. I didn't have any problems until I hit tier 7 and then all of the sudden massive random slowdowns. It seems mostly to be caused by the giant spotlights. The other issue is I really don't know any of the tier 8 songs except for Metallica's One so combined with the slowdown I have less desire to play them.

The website still seems to be pretty random about scores. My high in raining is 210k and it still has me at 150k

A similar thing happened with Spanish Castle Magic on the first GH game. The cover vocalist sounded too much like Hendrix and they had to remove the vocals or else the Hendrix estate was going to sue.

Really? They used to have the version with vocals, on the website, and I thought it sounded nothing like Hendrix. After hearing it, I was glad they took the vocals out. They could take the vocals out of Pride and Joy too, and I'd be fine. The vocals in that cover, really suck.

I got GHII today since I liked III so much and was curious about something: On the main menu it has a multiplayer option but it is blacked out. There is no mention of multiplayer on the back of the box. Was this something that was considered at the time it was released but just didn't happen?

It's blacked out because you have to have 2 guitars plugged in to select it... it does have multiplayer, just not online.

I moved up to number 5 on the DVD talk groupie list. I've 5 stared easy and medium. I only need to beat Raining Blood and One on hard to finish that setlist. Then I'll start working on 5 staring those. I'm a little over 50% complete on expert.

El Jefe is mine! I just barely got 5* on Raining Blood with 227,488. I activated SP on 2 immediately, missed the spider walk star notes, missed the next star notes during Verse but managed to string a nice long 4x multiplier after I missed the star power and hit all my trills for a perfectly played MOSH 2.

My breakthrough came by finally building enough strum speed for Verse and abandoned the use of my pinky when it came to hitting those orange notes for better accuracy.

Now I won't have to hear that song for a long long time. It'll be the last song I'll ever try to bump up for my overall career score.

Can't find the 360 bundle anywhere....

Is there any place selling the guitar by itself?

Is the GHIII guitar better than the GHII guitar?

For the most part yes, the Les Paul with GHIII is way better than the GHII X-plorer.

I'm having trouble 5 starring Raining Blood on Easy.

I had some trouble with my Les Paul. I was getting a short between the neck and the body. I ended up using a couple of large rubber bands between the two to tighten up the connection.

Thanks for the encouragement!

I actually got GHII on Black Friday (game only) and just finished it tonight on Easy (5 starring everything). I was feeling confident and put on Raining Blood (on Easy) again and 5 starred it tonight!

Now to move to Medium on both GHII & III! I am going to try to 5 star everything on Medium for both before I even consider moving on to Hard.

Quick question: I know cheats have been discussed before but I hate using cheats unless I just absolutely have to. The problem is...I want to play The Beastie Boys and The Strokes (and the other co-op only bonus songs) but don't want to use a cheat to get them. Can you only play them/get them in co-op? Do you have to go thru a co-op career to get them opened up to play solo or is there another way? I definitely don't want to use the "all songs" cheat if it affects getting your acheivements and would like to not have to use a cheat altogether.

It seems unfair that they would have several extra good songs but only let you have them thru a co-op career or if you use a cheat!?!? Might they do this as a future download like the Boss Battles?

By the way...the Halo song download is cool as shit and I encourage everyone to check it out...even non-Halo fans. Good music!

I can top that. My friend has blown 3 GHII controllers in the past week. They have shocked him and then quit working. I thought it sounded silly, but it happened last night when we tried using it in Rock Band. Worked for a few minutes and then out of the blue shocked him and shorted out. Weird.

It seems the only way to play the co-op songs is if you play career mode with someone else to unlock them. I know it sucks, I had my cousin come over so I could unlock some of the songs. If you do use the cheat codes you will end up unlocking 3 achievements. Glad you finally 5 stared Raining Blood, and I agree the Halo theme is awesome.

Just so I understand properly...it gives you three achievements for using a cheat or it takes them away and you can't unlock them?

Just want to make sure I understand before I use a cheat. It's silly to keep songs away from people who don't have someone to co-op with for someone who might not have an online account (downloadable content excluded of course).

Are there any repercussions from using the cheat? I hate to use them but will if I have to. GHII & III are games that I strictly play for pleasure and could care less what my score is or if I use star power or even the whammy bar (unless it sounds cool). I don't even pay attention to my score...I pay attention to my performance (how many stars I get & notes I missed).
