It takes a little getting used to, but many people swear by it. I used i tmost of the time in GH2, but rarely remember to turn it on for GH3. Might help me some with TTFAF though.

Hey guys I've owned a 360 for, oh, 4 months now and so far I have enjoyed Halo 3, Bioshock and TW08. Those are the only games I have though. I've messed around with Guitar Hero about a year or two ago and I loved it. I'm thinking about picking up either GH3 or Rock Band for myself as a Christmas present. As I know NOTHING about either, I have a few questions that I don't think warrant their own thread.
Which one should I get?
I just moved from IN to GA and currently have 0 friends in the area. Hopefully I'll change that soon but I'm still leaning towards GH due to the fact that I may not be able to find a singer/drummer/etc. - although having RB may actually help me break the "ice". "Want to come to my house and play bass?" Weird I know, but it may work.
Which one is better for a beginner? More fun? Does GH3 have DLC like RB does? Can you play any of them online like vs. or co-op?
I'm guessing there is only one RB set but I keep reading about a bunch of different GH guitars. I'd easily pay more for a wireless one but which one is best?
And, lastly, where can I find a decent price for the one that you'd choose for me?
Thanks to anybody that answers!

I'd say go with RB, if you can afford the leap into it. It is very fun to play, most songs are by the original artist. You can play with people over live for the different instruments. And, if you do end up making friends, you have all the equipment already.
The DLC looks a lot better for RB as well with the eventual full album releases coming out.
GH3 is fun, but I enjoy RB more. I've played all the GH games, 1 & 2 on the PS2, then got GH2 and 3 on the 360.

Looks like flairbear hasn't been around lately to let more guitar heroes in... and our rank keeps dropping too.
I've been doing my part by playing online a bunch. I'm still trying to get the Search & Destroy achievement.

Any word on a patch for the Wii GHIII audio issue? It's a little rediculous Activision hasn't done anything about it yet.

I've been following it at the official GHIII forums and there isn't much in the way of updates. Dolby sent a reply to a bunch of people the other day, though, saying that they'd been working on the issue with Activision and that Activision would be releasing a statement "soon." That was a few days ago and there still has been no official word.

"This updated response is being generated as a follow up to your incident with our customer support department.
We recently became aware that some consumers have not been able to enjoy the full audio output in the Nintendo Wii version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. We are currently working with Nintendo and are planning to issue an improved audio experience in future versions of the game. We expect to have re-mastered discs available by early 2008 and we will be offering consumers replacement discs at no cost once they become available.
Should you have any further inquiries, please contact Activision customer support at www.activision.com/support. We thank all of our customers for their support and patience."

I have the Wii version - how do I get hyperspeed? What sound issues?
This is my first GH game, so getting all 5-star reviews on Easy and Medium was a feat for me. Now I'm running on 3-star reviews in Hard, but it's because I didn't know about hammering. Now I'm practicing but it really makes a difference!
