Well, Walmart had the wireless bundle listed on their website for about 20 minutes yesterday so I jumped on it. Today I get the backordered e-mail. I am none too happy.

Despite not ever having el perfecto'ed any song on easy, I did two tonight on Medium. Go figure. One was The Metal two, which has some of the strangest timings I've heard in a song.

At the store today, I saw a guy get 99% on Expert in COP. Insane.

My pinky's just not strong/quick enough to FC the solos in Cult of Personality. One day, though...

I'm still having a blast with pro face-off. There are some amazing players out there. Usually when people pick Devil went down to Georgia they're just being idiots, but I played this one guy who got over 90% on the song!

Any idea when more DLC will be available for this one? They put out the Foo Fighters and Velvet Revolver packs like a week or so after the game was released back in October, and since then nada....
On the other side of things, Rock Band has 5 times as much stuff already available even though it hasn't even been out a month yet! New stuff available every week there, hmmm, maybe Activision should focus on competing with them by making some new DLC and not with their lawyers trying to block the PS3 guitar patch (allegedly, as Kathy Griffin would say....)

1. they did put out the Halo track on Thanksgiving.

2. Activision is rumored to be planning up to four sequels to GHIII this year which probably doesn't leave much room for DLC.

Fine with me. You get more for your money with a game than DLC anyway.

^ same here. I'd much rather have a disc than 1s and 0s.

1. Only for 360 owners, not PS3....

2. Well, that could really suck.....if they make them like the 80s edition, where they just plop a handful of new tracks onto a disc with a few new outfits on the characters and then charge full price for it! Seriously though, why even bother with a "downloaded tracks" tab on the song choice list for GH3 if DLC will be almost non-existent?

At this point, Activision doesn't need to compete. GH3 has sold something like 10x as many copies as Rock Band.

Also, the strategies behind each game are different. Rock Band seems to be about buying the game once and downloading songs from there, where Guitar Hero is more of a franchise where you buy a new edition of the game from time to time.

I think they should just number them by year like the Madden Series.

One thing I really miss from GHII is in the leaderboards, the X out of Y rank. I want to calculate my percentile, damnit!

FINALLY!!!

I passed Raining Blood on Hard. I barely make it through the Mosh 1 section (although I can 100% it on practice...weird).

Now it's just that damn solo on 'One'.

I'm still stuck on 'Holiday in Cambodia' on Expert. The intro keeps going to hell. And I hate practicing it because it hurts my ears with all that feedback and sh*t.

Groucho is right, Rock Band is more of a starter kit with the continuation through DLC, Guitar Hero is seen as more self-contained with occasionally DLC perks.

And GH3 is pushing 3m served. Rock Band is still at a paltry 200k (man I hope it holds up though, I love the game).

I've beaten Tom on Hard, but can't get past him on Medium.

So I achieved my first goal on GH3. I wanted to 5* all of Easy, then 4* all of Medium, which I did last night. Hard is still kicking my butt, I've only got one 4*, and the rest are terrible.

I can't seem to make a hand position choice. I've played guitar for 20 years, so I'm comfortable using my pinky. I either play in first position and use my pinky to slide over to orange, or move to position two entirely. It's very hard to keep everything straight - I'm still waiting for that "click".

I'm trying to 5 star that one on medium and keep coming up short. One of about 5 left to 5 star. I'm also in the midst of trying to get the 1000 note streak on TTFAF on easy. Best so far is 818 notes. So close.

I'm also stuck on Aerosmith on hard. Too many orange notes.

You probably already know this, but I'll say it anyhow. Don't leave your index finger on the green, just hit it when needed and slide up to the red immediately, that'll set you up for easy fingering for the blue / orange combo stuff.

I got 915 on first try. Missed two notes. Grr. That's addictive.

EDIT DAMNIT!!!! I was about 39 notes from the end when my strap came off. I had 1063 streak. Bastards. Grr.

TTFAF played on MIDI drums. Still better than I am with the guitar.

I was in the middle of my battle with Tom on Hard tonight when the screen froze and advised me that an update was available and it was required to continue with the game, then it kicked me out of the game and downloaded the update... right in the middle of the fucking song!!! What the hell is that?

Anyone else have that happen, or am I the only one playing on PS3?
