It looks like a game you would play on a cell phone... an old cell phone....

All seven XNA games are up for download. The whole interface to download the games is convoluted, but I'm really diggin' Dishwasher. You can teleport around like effing Nightcrawler. Probably the best of the bunch. Little Gamers is fun as well.

Culture looks great, but has a bit to grow into a full game.

Jelly Car is hilarious, definite potential. I loved the different visual styles.

Little Gamers is fucking terrible. It's probably the single worst indie-game I've played in years. The lame internet-speak made me feel as uncomfortable as being witness to a flubbed racial joke, it was just insulting. But the biggest problem I had is that it LOOKS awesome. The visual style is very nice.

Proximity HD needs major rule tweaking to actually work, at all.

Rocket Ball could evolve into a fun childhood-street-sports style game.

The Dishwasher is beyond awesome. It feels a lot like Alien Hominid though, but that's not a bad thing. It looks like there's some depth with the different weapons and combos too. The comic cut-scenes are lame though, primarily from the horrible writing. They should get somebody to inject some life into those or just axe 'em. This one could be a full XBLA game though!

Tri Linea was too complicated for its own good.

Ya, I agree about Dishwasher. Fun to play, awful awful comic book storyline segments.

This one is descriped in the download as "an upcoming XBLA game", none of the rest are. I think that makes sense; it's by far the most polished of the demos and it plays very nicely.

I couldn't understand Poximity "HD" at all. Couldn't make heads or tails of that game even with the instuctions.

Jelly Car has some potential, but there doesn't seem to be much depth to it as a puzzle game.

As I noted in the 360 thread, these games are limited time downloads and will only be playable for 17 days.

I don't even plan to d/l these or care all that much, but the above got me thinking. I wonder if there is a way around that? I imagine one surefire way is to not plug into the net and change your system date, but then the first time you plug in it may figure it out and delete them.

So I checked out the demo of N+ (which, by the way is only 13 MB), and bought the game after playing about 30 seconds--at dead least check out the demo, it's well worth it.

so after numerous hours with N+, I'm deleting it from my hard drive before I smash both my controller and my TV...easily the hardest most frustrating game I've even played. If you don't have the patience to waste 2-3 hours on a 20 second puzzle dying every 5 seconds, don't even bother playing the game.

Any advice from the 'Poker Smash' gurus out there? I've been playing for the last day or so, and I can't seem to get my top score over 10,000 or so. What am I missing when playing?

Combos. At the beginning of the game, speed the cards up all the way near the top, then find a lower set of 3 horizontal, then slow-mo and keep the chain going. That's how I got the 7x today. Takes a little practice.

I can't figure those combos either. Have to keep trying I suppose. Another way to get bundles of points is to get a challenge after playing for a few minutes. It doesn't always work out, but they can be 10,000 points or more. Once one comes up, slow time and get it ASAP.
Regardless, I freakin' love Poker Smash. What a wonderful time waster.

As far as N+ goes, neocheddar, you and I will have to respectfully disagree on that one. I found it incredibly frustrating and phenomenally difficult to control. I might soon cough up 800 points for Rez (I keep debating that purchase), but for anyone to spend 800 on this monochromatic headache-inducing frustrationfest is mind-boggling.

And once again, Dishwasher is an amazing game. Was it really designed independently? I'm blown away. Yeah, it's awful similar to Alien Hominid, but it plays better and it's so much fun. Only 16 more days to play the demo...

Wow, that looks pretty fun. Might be the first XBLA game I have bought in a while.

I'm liking that one and Little Gamers. JellyCar is not as fun as I thought it was going to be. The Flower one is kinda meh once you get to higher levels...

Just a heads-up for those who don't check CAG regularly : Starting next Sun (3/2), Target is selling their XBLA game code cards B1G1 free. Unfortunately, the only 800 point/$10 game codes they seem to sell are Texas Hold 'Em, Worms and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. I wish they carried more variety but they apparently don't. They also have Geometry Wars, Uno and maybe another couple 400 point games on $5 cards. I don't know if I'll pick up the Worms card, it might depend on what I think of the UMK3 demo...

Thanks for that. I check CAG occasionally, but really don't have time for more than one forum, so it's nice when people make sure the deals are posted here as well.

I'd jump on Worms and another, but just noticed that my memory card came with Worms pre-loaded apparently.

So, are these cards purchased only for specific games?

I have never seen anything like that before.
