By that time, you have a boatload of weapons and plasmids though. Mines + rocket launcher == Dead Rosie.

Re: Bioshock is out - Let's Discuss!

You guys were right. The subsequent Big Daddies haven't been too bad, but Rosie is a BITCH! I'm currently taking pictures of Spider Splicers and what not in the hotel.

One thing that bugs the SHIT out of me is the 5 minutes of logos I have to sit through to even get to the "start" screen whenever I feel like playing.

So now I'm looking around the Farmer's Market for water and bees. Question:

Are there some things that you just can't hack? Sometimes when I try to hack something, every path to the exit is blocked by one of the alarm or short circuit tiles. Am I just bad at hacking, or do I eventually get something that can destroy the bad tiles?

As I recall you can get plasmids that enhance your hacking skill to reduce the number of blocks. With a low hacking level against a high difficulty hack, it's very possible the randomocity modifiers are complete dicks.

Holy crap, this game just keeps going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going......[/energizer bunny]

I don't see any type of "hours played" or "percent completed" info anywhere, so I have no idea how far along I am, but I thought I was going to see the ending like 6 different times already.

Currently looking for the pieces of a Big Daddy suit. Just changed my voice to sound like one. Woohoo!!

Looking through the trophies, is there seriously anyone in the entire world that could play through this whole game without using one Vita Chamber? I don't believe it.

I did...just saved very often, especially before boss battles and big daddy battles. I will say that attempting to get that achievement/trophy really forces you to plan out strategies of attack. I enjoyed the game much more taking this approach.

I got the achievement as well. Save often and you don't need those chambers.

I never used a chamber on my first playthrough either. Just saved often. Never did go through on Hard.

Re: Bioshock is out - Let's Discuss!

I went through on Hard without using a Vita Chamber, but didn't get the achievement. There's a bug where that happens; I later found out that if you don't actually get the option to turn the Vita Chambers off in the new game screen, it means you have the bug and need to delete/re-download the DLC. I'll get around to doing so one of these days.

I did the same, like it has been said before SAVE OFTEN and you don't need them.

Also for some reason I thought I would lose some of my stuff if I used them so I never did.

Spoiler:
I found Fontaine disappointingly easy to beat.

I think you'll find many people with the same feeling about the ending of the game. I still thought it wasn't a bad ending just a little anti-climatic. Did you harvest any little sisters? I saved them all on my first play through and harvested a few on my second run.

Re: Bioshock is out - Let's Discuss!

Right - not bad, just not "challenging". I saved all the little sisters. From what I could tell, it only cost me two upgrades from the Gatherer's Gardens and I don't even remember what they were. It will be my only play through. No idea where I would find time to play a game more than once.

Re: Bioshock is out - Let's Discuss!

With my subwoofer out and the PS3 going straight through regular tv speakers Im playing past games to get the platinum trophies. Did Uncharted, Dead SPace and decided to takle this. I wasnt going to but apparently I can still get the platinum without getting the STUPD dlc trophies. I hate online shit.

This is one tough game. Im doing it on survivor with no chambers and that first big daddy battle. Holy shit.... I found a great FAQ though and it baby steps your way to getting all trophies in one playthrough.

The DLC is free...not sure why that would get you all pissed off about there being trophies/cheevos tied to it.

Re: Bioshock is out - Let's Discuss!

Just started this game a couple days ago and it's been pretty great so far. I'm really taking my time with it. It's definitely a bit more slow paced, so I'm not sure I'll be too eager to dive into Bioshock 2. Maybe when it's also $20.

Re: Bioshock is out - Let's Discuss!

boy- this is a tough game. a lot of thinking involved. really have to conserve on the ammo, $$, health and EVE and think about what to use in the right situations. hacking is tough with some of them and you got to be quick. you got to search everything to get what little bit is offered.

even shooting enemies takes some precise aim while they hit you dead on and only a few shots or clobbers and you are dead.

i've just killed Dr. Steinman, so not too far along, but even he took some time for me. really can't duck or block shots or anything. seems always relentless, especially if you trip a security camera and the bots come.

do supplies get more plentiful as time goes on?
