Awesome "news". Guess we'll look for it in November of 2008...

During the B2G1F I picked up Yoshi's Island DS... anyone played it? It was a total blind buy for me.

I bought my daughter a Pink DS Lite for Christmas when TRU had the free $20 GC with purchase of the DS, so I got that and used the GC to get Nintendogs for her.
Then I saw that the Nintendogs bundle came out over the weekend, so I exchanged the Pink DS Lite and game for the Metallic Rose/Nintendogs bundle. The funny thing was that TRU refunded me the entire price of the DS ($130) and not the reduced price of $110 (since they charged me $20 for the GC in the initial purchase). I didn't complain. Merry Christmas to me! So as of Dec 25th, we'll have four DSs: Me (white), wife (pink), son (black/crimson), and daughter (rose). (Oh... and I paid a $5 difference and got Thrillville in exchange for the Nintendogs that I got as part of the B2G1 vidgame sale.) |

While trading in some old games on Saturday, a Gamestop employee handed me a coupon book with some coupons that didn't actually suck. One was B2G1F on DS or PSP games and doesn't expire until the end of January.
Not sure if you can just pick up a copy of the coupon book or not, but it's worth looking in to. |
By the way, the Ninja Gaiden demo rocks hard. I kept it on my DS all day Saturday and passed it around to my friends that night.. half a dozen copies instantly sold from that two minute demo.

Still can't find a store with the new demo station downloads. Hope we get that feature for the Wii in the US soon.
Master of Illusion is very cool. Granted I have been a geek for magic since I was a kid and grew up worshiping guys like Penn and Teller. The game is set up in kind of a Brain Age way. You get a small number of tricks to start out and unlock the rest by earning points when you practice and perform tricks. However, you only get 100 points a day so it definitely encourages daily play and practice. The tricks I tried out the first day were actually very good. The candle one is not tough to figure out, but I tried the Shuffle tricks on several people and no one could figure out how it worked. There is also some solo play stuff where the DS tricks you, but the first card one I tried seemed very much like the Max Maven stuff where it is always going to work out even though you seem to be doing random stuff. Anyway, as a fan of Touch Generations stuff this one may be one of my favorites. I applaud Nintendo for bring something this weird to the US. |
This Contra game is making me MENTAL. There are so many cheap deaths I am getting ready to fling my DS out the window.

That said, I'm still digging it. They really nailed the NES look and touched it up nicely for the DS. I'll keep playing it. |

Geometry Wars DS is one heck of a game. Easily a must-buy. The purchasing upgrade system and game modes make this a good version jump. I haven't tried multiplayer yet.

The plastic casing over the lights on the right hinge completely snapped of my wife's DS Lite this afternoon and the screen now dangles off the left hinge. She just opened it and it snapped.
We've had it for 18 months and it's way past warranty. Ouch! |

That was one of the fun things about the original Contra. Also is the original contra one card wireless two players? Please say yes! |

I found a silver DS Lite over here in Berlin. Are those available in the US? The price was 149 euro though.

Just finished the long journey through the third Phoenix Wright game (had to be 30 hours to finish) and holy crap was this game a masterpiece. Some of the best writing out there and the way they pulled together all the threads of all the cases of the 3 games for an amazing finale was brilliant.
Trials and Tribulations is top 5 all time for me for the text adventure genre and competes with anything I have played from Sierra and Lucas Arts over the years. I know some people felt the second game was a bit weak and it was the weakest of the three, but it is definitely worth playing all of them in order to enjoy an amazing trilogy of games. I can only hope Apollo Justice can live up to the writing and storylines. |
Has anyone picked up the Gold Zelda DS Lite Bundle? I'm going to pickup a DS in a few weeks and I'm debating on the Gold Bundle or a Black DS Lite.

This is likely old news, but I picked up Elite Beat Agents at K-Mart for $15 finally.

Yeah, I already own Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan (bought that one way back when it was first released), so I know what I'm getting into with EBA. :)
