Re: Resident Evil 5

So, I just started playing this on PS3 last night with the super shot move controller. This is my first resident evil game, so I have no point of reference, but is this game supposed to be brutally hard? I have played all of 30 min and have died 3 times already. And I am playing on superfro difficulty.

wtf is superfro difficulty? It's one of the easier Resident Evil games because ammo is more plentiful in this game than the others, so if you think it's difficult only 30 min in you might as well give up now.

Easiest difficulty. I was just wondering if the normal controller makes it hard or not. It sounds like move controls may not be for me on this game.

Re: Resident Evil 5

It's probably just the controls he's struggling with, they are really clunky in this game. The fact that you have to stop to shoot can be frustrating for new players.

Clunky controls are a Resident Evil tradition

I can't be the only one here who listens to the signed in podcast can I? A long time poster here is a host for crying out loud. (Not that that compelled me to listen to Tracer's podcast for long )

Re: Resident Evil 5

BLAST FROM THE PAST BABY!!!

(sorry, no remake news here)

Beat this a couple of days ago. It's the first old school RE title I ever played through. I'm not sure of all the hate this title gets but at the same time, I'm not looking at it in the present tense. I guess back when it was released after RE: 4, people may not have liked the shift, but it's an epic game - very impressive what they pulled off for this game back when it was released.

It was WAY too long though - that's one of the things I don't miss from that generation of games. Not a major gripe though.

I heard that as much as people complain about 5, It was the number one selling RE title up until RE 7 was released.

Six is up next for me and I already played the intro. People hate on that game as well - so far I love it.

After Six will be the very first ever RE game (from the origins collection) then I'll end with RE Zero. I don't really have an urge to play any of the non-number titled releases. I hear Code Veronica is awesome and I did play through a good portion of revelations but just lost interest.

Re: Resident Evil 5

I really enjoyed 5 and it reviewed well just people were disappointed that it focused more on action then survival horror. I don't know how others feel but I wouldn't really consider RE5 an "old school" RE title. 1-3 & maybe Code Veronica I'd put as "old school".

It was 14 years ago and in the 360 era so that's why I called it old school - it's not really old school like 1-3 but old enough I guess. I remember to this day watching the gameplay demo of it and I though the graphics looked amazing but I just wasn't into it back then....I missed out.
