Yeah I haven't seen the 360 version for 19.99 yet but when i do I'm going to pick it up. Seeing that the PS3 version is 19.99 gives me hope.

Well I should clarify it was 29.99 but I had $10 in BB reward zone credit so it only cost me 19.99 in the end.

Keep checking Target locations around you. Mine had 8-10 the other day for $19.99.

Re: Resident Evil 5 (Gold Edition) on March 9, 2010

just read on Amazon in the description:
"Features new modernized third-person action game control variations as well as the return of the traditional Resident Evil 4 control schemes."

what exactly does the return to RE 4 control mean? is the entire game playable like RE 4 was? or is it just some new add-on levels?

anyone with help with this would be appreciated.

Re: Resident Evil 5

All that means is that you can control it in the same way as games like Gears of War, or if you prefer you can use the same control scheme that was in Resident Evil 4.

still a bit confused.

i can play the entirety of RE 5 with the exact same control scheme (which i loved) in RE 4 with this new Gold edition, meaning they added a whole new control scheme to this edition? the regular edition i have now is just RE 5's clunky controls with no option to change...

Re: Resident Evil 5

I could be wrong but it seems they're just talking about new controls on the extra levels(DL content) that will be included in the Gold Edition not the full game.

Re: Resident Evil 5

My reading of the Amazon.com page is that it's the whole game:

http://www.amazon.com/Resident-Evil-...8002919&sr=8-2

But it's really not clear.

It does. There is a control setting for it to be just like RE4s controls. Personally I like the addition of the strafe ability.

Re: Resident Evil 5

Ok so I'm at the end of the game and am running out of ammo during the final boss fight. Is there anyway I can replay previous chapters to get more ammo and then pickup where I left off (even if I have to do the first two parts of the final boss again) or am I screwed?

Go to the marshlands and goto the abandoned boat in the middle of the lake. There's a rocket launcher on it. That helps taking care of wesker once he jumps over to you after you fall through the rock bridge.

Re: Resident Evil 5

I went back and collected some more ammo so I think I can do it. I retried a few times but kept dying. Sheva is completely useless as she just sits and fires at him not even on the specific weak spot. I got pretty far and kept dying eventually and then realized you have to run up to him and do button presses. Would have been nice if they had indicated that. I battled him for probably 20 minutes and other than the time I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn (usually my aim is pretty good but I can't hit him well at all many times!) I think I got to the point where you have to run and do the button press. Wish I would have realized that's what you do!

Re: Resident Evil 5

For those of you who have played the Gold Edition, is Lost in Nightmares available from the main menu or does it have to be unlocked?

Question re:Gold Edition, is all of the extra content on the disc or do they give you the codes to download it from the Marketplace?

Thanks

Re: Resident Evil 5

So the DLC for RE5 is the deal of the week on X Box live. They have Desperate Escape & Lost in Nightmares for 240 each or the Untold Stories Bundle for 560. I don't really care about the extra costumes in the bundle so I was thinking about buying the others separate. Anyone else play through them? Are they both worth it?

Re: Resident Evil 5

I'm trying to decide what to get, I want both episodes, But I need help. Each Episode mentions 2 extra characters for MM. But the Untold Stories mentions costumes but nothing about the extra characters... Does Untold Stories also contain the extra characters mentioned? If no then its between buying each separate with extra characters or the bundle with extra costumes....

Re: Resident Evil 5

Definitely get Untold Stories, not only does it have the costumes, it has the remaining 4 characters for the Mercenaries+ game.

Re: Resident Evil 5

Went back and played RE5 [on normal] before playing the DLC. Got like 25 new achievements, I just need to pass it on Veteran & Professional and need to get all "S" on all levels.

I liked both DLC packs It was cool going back to the mansion, I just wish it was more. Just need to unlock Professional and beat it.

Desperate Escape was a nice frantic pace ride... also just need to beat it on professional.

Loved playing as JILL.
