It looks like the series will be getting a complete reboot after RE 5.

That's really my biggest issue with RE5, from the demo at least. Nothing about it felt 'horror' to me. I would probably be more forgiving of its other issues if the game setting pulled me in, but I'm just not feeling the bright desert thing.

So the question, for multi-console owners, is:
Which version to get - PS3 or 360?
Has there been any mention on the differences between each port?

Seems like the only difference between the two version is that the 360 one has a slightly better frame-rate (only in the more hectic sections), that, and the PS3 requires a 4.5gig install but it has slight better texture detail in blacks and shadows.

Re: Resident Evil 5
Finally got around to playing this for the first time. I don't understand the hatred, because it feels just like RE4 to me. Then again, I've never had issue with the controls in the series. Looking forward to this one, just debating whether to get the CE or not. For any other game I wouldn't anymore, but being RE, I feel compelled to do so...

Re: Resident Evil 5
Well, I got this (360 version) today (local store got it in and broke street-date) and after what felt like a much longer than normal update, I played it for a couple hours.
It's pretty much like the demo, only it felt a lot more fun - I'm not sure if that's because if my expectations were tempered, or if they improved the controls or something, but I really didn't have any problems with the controls or anything at all.
I played on the easiest setting, and man, it's pretty fucking easy - you pretty much can't dies and Shiva keeps healing you before you'll die. I might go up a notch just for the more tension, because while I prefer easy games, this easy setting is just too easy. But I'm early, maybe it gets harder later - I don't know yet.
That's all I can play today, I'll be able to put in more time tomorrow and give further impressions, but so far so good.

Looks like Amazon has added "Release Day Delivery" for this item, so prime members especially may want to change their pre-order so they can get it faster.

Hmm, I have a few options. The TRU deal, or the trade in two games and get it for $20 at Gamestop deal. Then there's Amazon with free release day delivery and probably a few bucks cheaper.

I'll answer my own question...

ign.com has a comparison of the 2 versions, however, it is only viewable by "ign insiders"

Well, I put down a deposit for my RE5 preorder at EB. I never did finish the demo and found the controls frustrating during times when there was a lot of chaos going on, but still ... I have enough trade-in credit anyway.
I would have not even bothered with preordering if not for the fact that the last big Capcom release (SFIV) has been consistently sold-out since Day 1 (for PS3, at least).

about sf3 PS3 version... have you tried Target? I haven't been to many stores in the past few weeks, but I've been to a few Targets and all had the PS3 normal version.

It's the first time in a long, long time that I have ever seen a game sell out so consistently and so quickly.

After reading all the reviews, I have a question for you guys. I have a friend that lives down the street that will be buying a separate copy Friday when I buy mine. Since we're both going to be playing this over the weekend, when we play online co-op, do you think it will keep a save on each of our system of how we're progressing or only the host's system? I don't want to play co-op online this weekend by connecting to his game he started, then try to play it on my system on my own with a bot only to find I have to start from the beginning again.

That would kick some serious ass if true.
