That's primarily one of the reasons I got it... I wanted something I could pick up and play for a couple minutes if i'm waiting for something or someone just to kill time.

Anyone have Dirt and the wireless racing wheel? Have any problems with this combination?

I read a report on amazon that claimed the combination was "virtually impossible to use" and was from someone who claimed proficency with the racing wheel. Anyone agree/disagree with this?

(a slighty different portion of a post I made in the 360 service thread)

I just got off the phone, after holding almost an hour, and the girl now tells me they're sending me a "refurb" with new hardware inside and it should be here Thursday. IShe thinks they felt it would be quicker than fixing my original system. Fuck, I was hoping to not get a refurb. Oh well, maybe this alleged "new" hardware inside will be good.

I don't really see how that applies to people finding it more fun then I do.

I think that so many gamers tried the game because it was during the infant stages of Live Arcade. It was the "first love" for many. Now that we have game that are more "experienced" it can be harder to appreciate the simpler games.

Damn!

I was on a perfect run in Pac-Man: CE this morning before work. I was going into the second set of keys without dying once and my wife interrupted my game...pause...unpause...die. I still added 10k to my high score, but damn, I could have easily had another 15-20k, which would have been top 20 material. damn. damn. damn.

Oh well. I'll get there again.

It doesn't. I've had a 360 since launch at that doesn't change my stance on the game. I'm not a fan either.

Your options are limited. When you have more options, it could be things that were once your favorite are no longer your favorite. People who said it's "awesome!" may not think it's awesome today.

I liked it, especially at the price, but Mutant Storm Reloaded is far and away the better game: different game modes, co-op, etc.

Yep, that game should be illegal because it is so addicting.

Why didn't you wait for the Game of the Year edition with the 2 expansion packs?

Did you re-buy just for the shivering isles expansion? I've been thinking about doing that myself.

Why didn't I wait? I'm American through and through. I NEED IT NOW DAMMIT!!!

I wouldn't say I re-bought it specifically for the expansions, considering I only played the game about 15 hours the first time I owned the game.

The fact the expansions are out definitely sweetened the deal, but I probably won't get to that point of the game probably for another month or so.

Yes, the smart thing would have been to wait. The smarter thing would have been to hold on the game + guide in the first place, rather than selling it before the expansion came out and the price going up.

Hindsight ftw

Lost Planet map packs #1 & #2 become free on Friday.

From Lost Planet Blog

Next, a multiplayer map pack will be released to PC users, featuring Trial Point, Hive Complex, Radar Field and Island 902. The map pack comes in at around 400MB.

Xbox 360 users have been playing with these maps for months, although at a premium download price. On the 20th, this map pack will be available for the first time to PC users as a free download, and at the same time the map packs featuring these maps will become free to all Xbox 360 users. In addition to this, Xbox 360 users can expect a patch that addresses online connectivity issues sometime during July.

Eh, I don't think so. There have been thousands of other games that i've played before Geometry Wars, and there will be thousands more. I don't really think that just because it was an early game on a specific platform has affected my or other people's enjoyments of the game. Well, at least mine. Can't speak for anyone else. Oh well...

well, if that was the case (new-game smell if you will) it would eventually die off. If you don't genuinely like a game for it's game play, its going to get old pretty quickly

I didn't really like it but maybe if you're a big rpg fan you'll enjoy it.

His next tattoo will simply be an '09, much to the shock and cheers of next year's E3 attendees.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the 360 design flaw.
