No, they're more metal... and I think they're better. Stoked about the additions of Kaiser and Lacuna. We got another Velvet Revolver song coming don't we?

Lacuna Coil was the only band I recognized in that bunch. I like they're stuff.

Hmm...not impressed. I don't want a game where I only know a small percentage of the songs. Leaning more towards buying Rock Band still but just renting this now.

Not knowing the songs doesn't make it any less enjoyable to me. Most songs will grow on me, especially after playing them a few times. The notable exception is "Yes, We Can"

* "Minus Celsius," by Backyard Babies
* "Hier Kommt Alex," by Die Toten Hosen
* "In the Belly of a Shark," by Gallows
* "I'm in the Band," by The Hellacopters
NICE! Backyard Babies and The Hellacopters are MUST HAVES! There's better songs they could've picked, but I'm very happy with those two bands FINALLY being in the game!

Welcome to the Jungle makes this thing a must-buy. The Metal clinches it. Everything else is just gravy.

I'm really excited about this version. The track list of the 80s edition is redeemed here.

It does for me. I love music. Love it. But for the life of me it isn't something I can do. I was in catholic school for 8 years and had music class multiple times a week for all that time. My brain just can't wrap itself around playing an instrument.

Stay with me... so me playing this game is a miracle. That being said, for a non musical person like me, it is far easier to play to a song I know. I can get in a groove and I'll be flying through notes wondering how the hell that is happening.

I've bought all the extra tracks in II but find them quite boring because I'm just staring at a screen matching up button colors. It's not quite the same, and a lot harder to get into a groove.

The Xbox 360 edition of Neversoft's Tony Hawk's Proving Ground will provide a sneak peak at the studio's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, publisher Activision revealed today.

The demo will include five total tracks, consisting of three master tracks--"Lay Down" by Preistess, "Even Flow" by Pearl Jam, "The Metal" by Tenacious D--and two cover songs--Pat Benatar's "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" and Scorpions' "Rock You Like A Hurricane." Two weeks after the October 9 release of Tony Hawk's Proving Ground, the demo will appear as free download on Xbox Live Marketplace.

"Music is such a huge part of skateboarding culture and pairing the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock demo with Tony Hawk's Proving Ground makes perfect sense," explained RedOctane head of publishing Dusty Welch. "We're excited to bring together two highly anticipated games and give fans their first chance to rock out with the franchise that's taken the world by storm."
Looks like a demo a week or so before it's out, unless you pick up the new Tony Hawk, and then you get it two weeks before it's on the marketplace, from what this article is saying.

That being said, who the hell's gonna buy Tony Hawk when Skate. is out?!

Listening to the songs a few times will get me into the groove. There's some stuff on there that I normally wouldn't listen to, but I enjoy playing because of the cool riffs and whatnot. I'm not musically inclined in real life either, but I play the hell out of some plastic guitar!

If only the game came with a delete key, that piece of shit would be gone long ago.

While they're going to be hellacious, a lot of them sound like actual achievements. As in, it's actually a feat to do that shit. I doubt I'll get more than half the available points, but I'll damn sure try for all of 'em.

Those achievements sound insane, but fun to attempt. Unlike most achievements, which just give you points for playing the game as you normally would, anyway. I like that several of these require you to do certain things in certain songs, like using no star power or using the whammy bar on every single held note in the song.

Edit: Although I did notice one of the achievements, "Meet Your Maker," requires you to play against (and beat) one of the creators of the game. That seems a little unrealistic, as these people would have to play 24 hours a day (and suck at it) to lose to all the people that would want this achievement.

Hopefully this will actually be like that viral Tony Hawk achievement, where you can either beat the creator, or a person that has already beaten them.

That's the only way I could see it working.

Considering Neversoft is the developer for Tony Hawk, I'm sure this is exactly how it works.

I've been watching videos on youtube, they have seriously upped the difficulty in this one.

That achievement list is nuts. I won't be getting many but it won't stop me from putting tons of time into the game.

I realize they want to have a Jordan-esque "impossible" song, but after a certain point, it just becomes stupid. This is WAY past that point...
