Welcome to the Jungle makes this thing a must-buy. The Metal clinches it. Everything else is just gravy.
I'm really excited about this version. The track list of the 80s edition is redeemed here.

Stay with me... so me playing this game is a miracle.
That being said, for a non musical person like me, it is far easier to play to a song I know. I can get in a groove and I'll be flying through notes wondering how the hell that is happening.I've bought all the extra tracks in II but find them quite boring because I'm just staring at a screen matching up button colors. It's not quite the same, and a lot harder to get into a groove.

The Xbox 360 edition of Neversoft's Tony Hawk's Proving Ground will provide a sneak peak at the studio's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, publisher Activision revealed today.
The demo will include five total tracks, consisting of three master tracks--"Lay Down" by Preistess, "Even Flow" by Pearl Jam, "The Metal" by Tenacious D--and two cover songs--Pat Benatar's "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" and Scorpions' "Rock You Like A Hurricane." Two weeks after the October 9 release of Tony Hawk's Proving Ground, the demo will appear as free download on Xbox Live Marketplace.
"Music is such a huge part of skateboarding culture and pairing the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock demo with Tony Hawk's Proving Ground makes perfect sense," explained RedOctane head of publishing Dusty Welch. "We're excited to bring together two highly anticipated games and give fans their first chance to rock out with the franchise that's taken the world by storm."

That being said, who the hell's gonna buy Tony Hawk when Skate. is out?!

The achievements are up:

A lot of them sound like big time wasters/pains in the ass.

Those achievements sound insane, but fun to attempt. Unlike most achievements, which just give you points for playing the game as you normally would, anyway. I like that several of these require you to do certain things in certain songs, like using no star power or using the whammy bar on every single held note in the song.
Edit: Although I did notice one of the achievements, "Meet Your Maker," requires you to play against (and beat) one of the creators of the game. That seems a little unrealistic, as these people would have to play 24 hours a day (and suck at it) to lose to all the people that would want this achievement.

I've been watching videos on youtube, they have seriously upped the difficulty in this one.
