CAG was a good starting point for skulls, but going off just a description sucks. As for a guide, Halo 3 Planet has everything covered. They have photos of all the skull locations and the descriptions are a bit better.

No offense to CAG of course.

Hmm...I didn't seem to have much trouble finding them from the descriptions, but the vids from Halo Planet were indeed better.

Wow. The second half of chapter 8 was really tough for me, even on "Normal".

While I still find the single player portion of H3 blah (please tell me it gets better!!) I finally picked up a 3 month Gold card to try it out online. Aside from the slow movement (at least compared to ET: Quake Wars) it's incredibly fun and addicting.

What difficulty are you playing it on? Believe it or not, it is more fun as a co-op game on the hardest setting.

Which chapter is that? The Covenant? or the area with the Flood? That Flood section was a bitch.

The Flood where you're saving Cortana.

Hmm, I haven't gotten there "quite" yet. I'm on that stage in Legendary co-op (just need to find some people to play it with). That's kind of funny considering I've felt that the flood are too easy in Halo 3. Can't wait to see them give me a run for my money!

so I beat the game on Normal a couple days ago, watched teh credits, saw the endings, ect... but now at the main menu, it still says continue solo Campaign and takes me to the very begining of the last level... how do I start at the begining and at a harder level?

Seems to be a lot of confusion about this. You can select your level on that same menu... don't click continue, go to the row that describes the level and click on it. You can also change difficulty, turn skulls on and off, turn co-op scoring on and off, etc.

so on the main menu, high light continue, and then click what? If I click A, it loads that save point for me

scroll down. "continue" is the default highlighted option. Scroll down to "Level," click and change the level. Scroll down again to "Difficulty," click and change.

Washington Wizards superstar Gilbert Arenas is cheating to rank up in Halo 3.

Gilbert Arenas Halo-Gate

October 11, 2007 3:17 PM

In today's bullets we discussed the possibility that Gilbert Arenas might be achieving high Halo rankings by setting up dummy games with friends to gain points. (I have no idea what I'm talking about, by the way.)

Dan Steinberg of the D.C. Sports Bog, in a real show-off move, confronted Arenas about it, and demanded a "60 Minutes" style confession:

"Gilbert," I said, approximately, "people say you're cheating at Halo 3."
"I'm cheating?" he said. "How am I cheating?"

"Gilbert," I asked, approximately, "are you creating dummy games with two fake friends and using the wins to rack up experience points?"

"Yeah," he said, laughing. "Yeah."

Sigh.

"It's a glitch," he explained. "It's a glitch in the game. I seen some kids that were like 600s, they won 600 Halo games and we only had that game for two weeks. And all the kids go to school. So I'm like, 'What the hell you all doing?' And they said that's what they doing, two-on-two."
Gamertag is Agent Arenas, by the way.

so, is that really possible?
Not that I'm trying that, I'm too lazy for that and I really don't care about cheating for achievement points.

Here's Gilbert's gamer history:

It's definitely possible, considering he's done it. His EXP is 400, and level 42...and you'll notice all of his games he won were less than a minute long.

Well I guess here we go again with this cheating crap. Between it and the imature little runts the first Halo got screwed up. Now this! Well at least we have plenty here to play among ourselves and not get infected.

PS - I'll fill in on a coop but I've only done Normal.

I'm all for playing with myself.

Wait... That didn't come out right.

Anyway - I just finished the campaign on "Normal". The last chapter was kind of a let down considering how tough the previous chapter was.

Why are so many of you playing on Normal? You're not getting the full Halo experience if you don't even attempt it on Heroic. I beat the game on Heroic and did not get stuck anywhere. I got 300 achievement points at the end.

The best way to get through "The Covenant" is to arm yourself with the energy sword and 2 plasma rifles

Cool NR.

Yeah I'm thinking of restarting on "Normal" because "heroic" is kicking my ass and the game is losing any fun factor for me. In fact, I haven't played it since last week because I've been stuck in this one area.

My first playthrough was on Normal and I had a blast. Played through again on Heroic and it was considerably less fun, though I did eventually make it.

Dying 10 times in a row is not my idea of a good time.
